This was really good Badminton Insight It was fun to watch you play against players that play once and twice a week 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 Then learn what mistakes they make and what they can improve 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 1. Don’t lift too much 2. First 3 shots 3. Hitting hard off balance And also learn a new word “quandary” uncertainty over what to do in a difficult situation 😁

What was a really obvious difference is that both of you are much more active during rallies whereas we ordinary mortals tend to be more static unless we're the hitter. And some of the people I play with haven't got the hang of the fact that we're a team - thst shot isn't necessarily "mine" because it's sort-of on my side of the court! Great video!

5:52 this is such a good question, I joined a stronger club and basically I had to change my serve receive and actually came up with the method jenny explained in this video: hitting soft to the sides! So actually I have a different question, usually I'm looking to intercept the third shot and have my racket up but if they play the soft shot to the sides I always end up playing it very late and lifting it. Instead what should I do in this case?

Great fun video! Speaking of avoiding injuries, when I was learning tap dance, we've always been told not to dance on a rock solid surface such as concrete, there has to be some sort of cushioning underneath the floor surface above the actual ground, or that it has to use some kind of sub-flooring system in order to absorb the shock and in order to reduce risks of injuries, is it similar with badminton?

Hey guys, I had a question regarding service during a mens doubles game *I have trouble against taller players with longer wing spans.* When I approach to serve them, their presence is almost all-encompassing if that makes sense For reference, I am 5 Foot 10 Inches (176cm) Unless I service perfectly above the net, forcing them to either play a lift or a net shot, they usually always smash it Serving it higher doesn't work, as it gets smashed Serving it to the side boxes doesn't work, as their long wingspans allow them to reach it What advice would you have for me in this situation? Thanks, love your videos and keep up the good work
@jackburtonstwin
@jackburtonstwin Жыл бұрын
Lots of advice here. It's crucial for club-level players to be able to play against top-flight opponents from time to time as it is these players that have the skill and speed to highlight and exploit weaknesses. Taking a beat down at the hands of a strong player may feel like a dent to a player's ego, but they get to "see" things that players their own level would not be able to demonstrate to them, and from that they can advance far more quickly.

Thanks for this video! I do have a big issue which I hope you might know how to fix. I know you’ve made a video about this subject but for me it didn’t really helped me in my situation. My problem is that I’m basically mentally ruining my game. At normal training sessions I always play really well. But as soon as I have a game for competition or a tournament, I mentally just stop working. When I’m playing a singles match on a training I can always really use my tactics and my shots are all really tight to the net etc. Yet as soon as I have a competition game my mind just becomes one big mess. I have no idea how to stop it or anything and it is really keeping me from becoming better because my level is at like an 5 for competition days compared to an 8 on training days. Especially since once I’m starting to get angry at myself for all those offside shots it will only get worse and worse. I have no idea why but It just happens. Everything goes offside or in the net, all my tactics just fade, I start to randomly shoot shots to random places and my footwork is all messed up. I know that it happens and I always say to myself to just be calm, but that just won’t do it. I have absolutely no idea on how to fix this. I have a championship game in 3 weeks and I know that I can win it, but I also know that because that game will decide if my team will be champion, I will also be more nervous and therefore make even more mistakes which I just can’t stop to make for some reason. Thinking like ‘don’t stress so hard’ or anything just won’t seem to help. My apologies for this big message.
