There's more overlap than people realize. One of my favorite Towa-sama streams was a birthday stream. Kaigai Kenzoku started superchatting in Japanese and the JP Kenzoku started superchatting in English. It was one of the most glorious Single Braincell moments I've ever witnessed.

@@emib6599 From my understanding of the English language, there is not really a wrong way of pronouncing a word, due to the various accents. As long as the person you talk to understood you, then you pronounced it properly (for them). Just make sure your writing is standard.

I see people say that around, but it always get me thinking: Does she have it in her? Yeah she's an Aussie, but I'm guessing her parents or a bit part of family isn't (I don't shit all bout irl side there and don't really care to know too much). So I don't think she can pull off like Sana could've for example. Though that's just a guess from what I've seen from clips. I fell into this hole a while after her grad.

As an American living in Japan I'm oftentimes told my Japanese is easier for my friends to understand than my english. When I speak english I slur, speak quickly and use slang. When I speak Japanese I take my time to think, enunciate and use standard vocab. And conversely, I usually find my fluent foreigner friend's Japanese easier to understand than our native japanese friends'. Basically I'm saying I understand why the JP bros find Bae easiest to understand

Learning Japanese as a native Spanish speaker has benefits, they both share phonetics. Basically, it will be easier to learn how to pronounce japanese. Hope this gives you a push to learn Japanese.

Real talk, though, Bae is VERY GOOD at speaking English with JP members -- I've taught English to Japanese students of all ages in my time, and English is a VERY difficult language to learn due to the fact that... well, it basically just doesn't follow its own rules whatsoever, and does whatever the hell it feels like. It's a very appropriate language for us Americans to speak, in that regard -- but I digress. ;) As a result, it can be very difficult for Japanese speakers learning English as a second language to pick up English sentences spoken at native speed or with native complexities (like the general over-reliance on idioms and euphemisms that's permeated all of English everywhere in the world, as well as the many regional quirks that are widely used at this point). So learning to speak "universal English" for the benefit of the listener's comprehension, as opposed to speaking one's own bastardized version of English, is honestly a really tall order that most people can't pull off very well. I hate to call her out, but... Calli is a great example of someone who tries, but generally FAILS HARD, at this. Every time Calli speaks English to her JP colleagues, she speaks a little TOO slowly, and simplifies her sentences so much that they actually become HARDER to understand due to a lack of necessary information. She's even spoken purposefully broken English at times -- such as in her infamous Keep Talking and No One Explodes stream with Korone -- which is just VERY bad form. And the thing is... that's kind of the norm. When someone attempts to adjust their speech for an audience who may not be able to fully understand it, and isn't used to doing this, it's only natural to overcompensate -- to speak too slowly, trim your sentences down to almost nothing, and make all sorts of mistakes in the process. It's a genuine SKILL to be able to adapt one's use of language -- particularly one's NATIVE language -- for easier consumption by a foreign audience. So in that sense, Bae really deserves massive props. She's linguistically VERY gifted. As much as people poke fun at her, what she does is genuinely super impressive. I'm nowhere near as good at it as she is, despite actively trying to train myself for many years.

Yes! This is exactly what I tried to say to my old folk who once tried teaching our language to a foreigner. (Not Japanese but this applies to all languages). Though not as clearly as what you've pointed out here, I said that using complete sentences with the least words possible is a lot better than that 'Charades' talk.

Calli said something about being classified as JP by Cover internally, along with IRyS, and I believe there was a third person she didn't specify. Could this mystery person be Bae? I think it's mainly timezone related. Being in Japan obviously puts Calli and IRyS on JP time, but Bae being in Australia probably puts her close enough. If it isn't Bae, it must be someone from Advent, perhaps FuwaMoco. I have no idea how Calli could have known, since this was before the first teaser of their existence.

Calli and IRyS are classified as JP because they live in Japan and since they have to follow JP labour laws, it's easier to have them as part of the JP organization internally. If there's a third, they're probably living in Japan.
