Baekhyun commented in various interviews that he always dreamed of making a concept like Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. He thinks that time was masterful, unforgettable; he would like to try something like that, but unfortunately the company has not allowed him to do so yet. Baek explained to us that as our gift before his military service he gives us Bambi, in Bambi and in this album he puts all his essence, what he always wanted to do, he said that he did not mind failing, he simply wanted to show himself as he was. As you already know, Baek's first two albums were about light. Bambi is like a game in Korea, it means "rain" and "night", it is a dark concept. Baekhyun said that he is about to turn 30, so we shouldn't expect children's lyrics hahaha. Crazy right? We love him He also told us that there are several hidden details in Bambi, so far EXO L has only noticed two: when he says "I have waited for you TinkerBell" it is because the EXO guys are our Peter Pan, like EXO's song. And the other detail is that at the end he says "keep this tempo", since Baek is the main character in the Tempo MV. Baek said that the nights he recorded he was too cold and we can tell by the steam or mist coming out of his mouth; he also said that when he grabbed the irons from the train, he hurt his hands. And regarding the vocals, if you listen to him better even than Candy, it's because he took singing lessons from scratch to deliver everything on Bambi. We love it so much. He said that he tried too hard, that he hopes we will give a lot of love to Bambi and the album. Our genius idol Baekhyun is so cute and considerate of us that he even confessed that for as long as he's gone, two songs will be released. The lighting in Baekhyun MVs is always very intentional. His EXO superpower is light and he references very deliberately. He also references light and shadow often in the lyrics here. All the EXO members do those little kind of nods to the main storyline in their solo works. Heard a great comment the other day "Where there is Baekhyun, there is light." Truth, the man is a shining genius, a ray of sunshine and all his work has been just growing and getting better and better. This whole album is a masterpiece of style and technique and mood.

Bambi can be interpreted in many ways. • Bambi in Korean = Night Rain (you can see it as the setting on this music video and also the lyrics) • Bambi in Italian = Baby girl (so yeah he's calling and telling his baby girl) • Bambi as fictional character = it means that the girl that he loves is just on his fantasy/dream, maybe because she's too perfect so its just a dream, and thats why there's lyric which talk about he won't wake up from this dream. It also reference to tinkerbell, neverland. So that make sense.)

That MJ - Chris Tucker is "You rock my world"! It does give that sort of feel. Word on the street is that he wanted to do something like an MJ Bille Jean-esque concept but he wasn't allowed to? So with him preparing to leave, I'm guessing that changed. But, he did say this is a 'Mature' Baekhyun sound. And yes Bambi isn't the Disney deer, even though there are references to Disney film "my neverland" in the song. There's wordplay happening with the Bambi because there's a combo wordplay in Korean that means "night rain" - in your video at 3:24? You can see the translation "Come down, night rain night rain" and there are others times where it says "Bambi". In Italian Bambi means 'young girl' essentially, he explains in the behind the scenes for the video that's essentially like a "young lover" something to that effect! But, again thank you for all your hard work! I really do hope you get a chance to check out "Cry for Love". Yes, this is the best choreo he's done. Yes, this is the most astounding he has sounded. The vocal acrobatics on this release are God Tier and it's why we love him so damn much, lol.

Check out "All I got." The composer is Tone Stith who also cowrite a few songs for Chris Brown, and he is cosigned by Drake and Justin Bieber. You should listen to Tone's version first, then Baekhyun's. Both artists are amazing singers and dancers!

I've heard a couple YT channels now pronouncing 백현 B-ack-He-Uu-n. Copy+pasta the hangul in google translate then hit the mic so you can hear how it sounds from a native speaker. Like Baekhyun says himself, pronounce it like BACON. It should sound more like Ba-Ek-He-On... The actual romanization of 현 standard is Hyeon. You can see it listed on the bottom of google translate. It's often romanized as Hyun because, when English speakers see it and read it, they're supposed to find it easier to translate... as in H--YUN. But spelling/sound by syllables is ㅂ/b ㅐ/ae ㄱ/k , ㅎ/h ㅕ/yeo ㄴ/n [백-baek, 현-hyeon].
