They are mostly people that don't watch any footage of EXO's concerts where you can tell they are singing live. There are off notes, voice cracks, forgotten lines, it all happens, because they sing live. I'm sure they do some lip syncing, because, as you say, it is hard to be on ALL the time. But it isn't as often as these hate filled antis make it out to be. Because EXO is known as the King of Vocals, that's what people have to attack, and because they don't think any group or artist has the ability to sing that well live, they can only assume that they aren't actually singing live.

It's sad for any artist to have to see hateful comments, but the unfortunate truth is that most of them are used to it. It is hard for them in the beginning because they take everything to heart and think that those comments are what most people believe. At the stage EXO is at now, I am pretty sure they don't get bothered by comments like that, because they know they aren't made by their fans. They only want to make the people that love them and/or want to hear their music, happy. Everyone else? Well, there isn't anything that EXO could say or do to make them happy, or make them believe the truth, so it isn't worth getting twisted up over.

You know, unlike other Exols who stan them for their vocals and hit songs, I was one of the few that known them through web series EXO Next Door.. tbh I knew wolf and growl back in my highschool when I was like 13 or 14 but I started to notice them not because of their songs but that funny and cringe web series.. so adorable. I didn't expect they are idols tho because I am so not familiar with kpop back then... Thanks to my bff as well to introduce me to them and help me to listen to their good songs which have such a deep meaning in every of them especially promise, don't go and baby don't cry.. They usually record the audio of an specific concert of their tours and the mistakes, laughs or comments they make during the concert are on the live album. You can compare fancams and is the same audio, also the screams and chants from the public is recorded for every song.

The thing is all these haters are prejudiced or fueled with a previous misunderstood situation or have had encountered another toxic fan from the same or different fandom... For example, a few months ago I saw a post on insta that some toxic people on twt. were actually having a conversation about how they hated all the Exo members except Sehun and Kai but praised their songs, they didn't mention the reason but the one who posted the conversation said she had a conversation with one such person once and she cited the reason that Exo members were all racist and colorist (because of some very ancient post of some very ancient toxic person that started the misunderstanding that Exo members made fun of kai's skin color and therefore they are racist)..she and I'm sure there are countless of other people like her who believe everything they see on internet and take everything seriously and start hating without even checking the facts themselves. Some toxic people from other fandoms (and our fandom have them too ngl) believe from the beginning they start stanning their group, they have to hate on other groups that are equally popular, they don't even know the reason why, they just believe the other toxic people. I can bet you that majority of these toxic people who says Baekhyun or other Exo members can't sing live and lip-sync, don't even know the difference between lip-sync and backing tracks, heck they don't even know anything about technical things that goes around behind a performance, but they'd jump in to spread nonsense because that's how they can only satisfy their toxic mindset. That's the sign of people who don't know anything, people who are filled with knowledge will think twice before claiming anything because their knowledge provides dignity to themselves and anything said with no knowledge shows how shallow you are as a human being.

I have a lot of theories about people attacking EXO and Baekhyun for lip-syncing, and the biggest one is that they honestly don't think anyone could sing how they are singing without being in a studio having their voice edited and helped. And I don't know any idol that lip syncs. There is a difference between straight up lip syncing and using a backing track. With a backing track, the idols sing live but they can also drop out if they need to, or if the choreo gets too intense (and there is nothing wrong with doing that!). At this point, I think comments like those in this video are more of a compliment than an insult. The fact that these people can't believe that he was actually singing, or that he was singing that well, is just proof of how good he is. No artist deserves any hate. They work so hard, and give up so much to do what they do. Why would anyone have anything bad to say about them?
