In Exo training days, each member expressed how in front of specific managers, part of their training was singing whilst on a treadmill, to practice movement while singing, and building stamina. That would be more than difficult for most, but Exo vocalists felt it gave them ways to control their vocals, breathing, and when to rest.

Love when you guys chit chat about the content you consume, it’s the charm of reactions. So, the thing Baek chases is the ‘perfect take’. And funnily, I find he is one of the most particular people in kpop when it comes to how individual listenings can sound. He considers all aspects of how one would listen to this one song. How it sounds when he dances, how it sounds to the performing audience, and how it sounds on record. Because not everyone will be hearing this song exactly the same way. What a luxury (and torture for the artist, LOL) it would be if every listener could hear him sing live EVERYTIME they listen to the track, haha. So even if he doesn’t sing the song exactly the same as the recording, it doesn’t really bother him, as he probably knows more than anyone how impossible it is to sing a song exactly the same on stage. What he wants is for the listening experience now to be worth it. How it’s gonna be sung later will be dealt with when the story he wants to tell has been laid out and told. (And usually, if he wants a song sung a certain way; he is pretty good at making sure that happens through practice.)

It’s always a good day when we get BaekSoo! We always joke about EXO getting sick at the same time because they share food but maybe they just record after each other because Kyungsoo was just as close or closer to the mic as Baek was 😂

Back then the most thing idols needed to do was singing and being able to sing like a singer. Now all matters is only visual and dancing unfortunately. A lot of idols nowadays can’t sing their own songs in encores where there’s no backing track for them or autotune.

If u look back at d.o n suhyun video earlier, d.o was in the same recording studio. And his blossom album was also recorded in this recording studio. I think the signage is the last thing the studio would care about ahahahaha

Pfft I thought 6:00 was when you realized that D.O and Baekhyun used the same studio for both of today's videos. To Kerry's point, I think he realizes he will never sing it as many times as a track is streamed so he wants to present the most perfect form of the song. He can obviously afford doing so because he is constantly working on improving his voice. He knows the Baek of tomorrow is going to be more skilled than him of today and so on. Another point is that on stage there are so many factors that can make a song better, the energy, dance, visual aspect etc but in a track you listen to on your phone there's just the singer's voice and the music so anyone would want to bring their 100% even if the squeeze it out.

I’m absolutely not a recording artist or have any idea what it’s actually like in the industry but I imagine when recording songs it’s more like you try to get the best audio version possible down to the tiniest details in the booth, and then start somewhat from scratch again when you practise singing it with the dance for the best performance version you can. Practically all idols, Baekhyun included, use backing tracks with backing vocals for live performances where they dance and sing so they can keep certain aspects of the recorded version that would be impossible to do live and have the support of the original vocals behind them when doing more difficult dances, often letting the backing track take over the main vocals for certain points during the performance where it coincides with a dance move, or for a specific effect, etc. Anyways, rant over, I just feel like studio versions and like versions are probably approached as two entirely separate things more than trying to translate one onto the other.

You do know that backtrack and lipsinc is different things, right?) Bc recent gen of kpop idols can't do their live stages even with a backtrack, they desperately need to lipsinc, but 1-2-3 gen idols can sing at music shows using just a backtrack+live vocal and they still do it with great quality.

Regarding the comment about the sign at the back, a lot of artists have used the recording studio previously (Ateez, Ive, Kungsoo, Lay, Chen and more) so I think the sign is definitely a choice and probably won’t be changing any time soon 😂

Lo único que creo es que D.O y Baek grabaron en el mismo estudio de grabación, D.O en la cancion de Disney por eso Tambien un poco de duda si se encontraron o se prestaron el estudio
