To be completely honest, this is a perfect shortfilm, and a great reaction! While I haven't seen much new this year, this is the best movie I have seen this year (and most of 2020). Also those actors, especially the princess are great!

Baelin would be a monk in D&D. Because he doesnt say too much, fights mostly unarmed using just a improvised weapon(fishing rod), dodges most attacks with literal ease, and has a strong moral code.

Ben's character reminds me of an old roommate who'd get super frustrated at video games. He wouldn't get upset because they were difficult or cheap, but because of common conventions and menial crap he didn't like. I'd ask him why he'd even bothered if the whole experience was tedious to him.

This is actually set early in the npc man series. Shortly before a bunch of high level players bully Baelin for his limited speech, he promptly drops them all in front of onion seller who looks very impressed. Its also confirmed he is fully self aware but only npcs on the related quest can understand his meaning like the girl.

For more of little Phoenix (she was 20 when this was made), with Ben (played the bad adventurer) look for "the death knight does side quests" and "Empty end game feeling", See her with Rowan and Allan (Greg the garlic farmer) in the modern day in "Baby-Sitting the bosses Niece" More of Baelin and Rowan's range with that one line, see "Forced to do stupid quests - Fishing" They do numerous skits exploring self-aware NPCs. There are a couple with Rowan as the wood chopper. Ben plays a fully sentient NPC trapped in the game. He has a tinfoil hat and begs adventurers to help him get out. "No this wasn't written in as background color by the game designers and this isn't an in-game quest! I'm real and I need to see if anyone can help me. No don't walk away, I'll disappear and go back into oblivion again!"

Why are you assuming only ONE NPC is epic? Also, anyone who watched the Epic NPC Man episode where Baelin beats up a couple adventurers that attack him for no reason will KNOW that Baelin is a bad ass fighter before this movie even starts.
