Just focusing on the textures, not on the playing: the Artemis seems to be very organic, rich and alive, with nice envelopes. That alone, with the portability, makes it very interesting. Congrats to Dreadbox!

Great job Jim. Happy to hear a bit more of this. Got to play around with an Artemis at the Dreadbox release party, but the club music was SOOOO loud thear, I couldn't hear much in the headphones. Do really like the fact the mods are "wiggle-the-slider/knob" assignable like the Murmex Adept and Nymphes. And like the Typhon, the effects are some serious frosting on a very nice cake.

Just noting that the lack of quantize on roli is... wow, linnstrument having that built in while still supporting MPE sliding is a godsend. Synth sounds nice, just needlessly pitchy in spots not because of the synth.

I got mixed impressions with this demo. Maybe it's the MPE controller and/or the swift sampling of presets, but some of them sounded really good and with others the synth sounds dull. Seemed to me like it really shines through with more polyphonic playing, though a lot of the sounds are heavily reliant on fx, just like in the sinevibes demo. I don't know if it's a conscious decision regarding the character of the synth due to the sinevibes collab or not.

I think when you have effects built into a synth at this level (sine vibes makes very high quality fx) it should be a given that adding them into the mix was the intention and therefore should be considered as part of the sound of the instrument.

Am I the only one who finds the MPE and Roli combination completely ruins demos? I can't concentrate on the sound quality because everything keeps going painfully out of tune.

@@EarmonkeyMusic open the ROLI Dashboard, then navigate to the MIDI settings and either disable "Enable Pitch Bend" or set the "Pitch Bend Range" to 0

Great products by Dreabox. My only complaints has to do with sound demos of the products... These products need professional keyboard players to be involved, to have ready for example 6 pads, 7-8 basses, strings, lead sounds so we can get a very good idea about the synths. Thank you for the video!

On the Typhon it isn't, so I wouldn't get my hopes up. Though, until recently, Dreadbox have been pretty good with their updates, so never say never...

@@neptunesgold1216 The Telepathy bundle might be worth a look (6 Telepathy and 1 Psychosis in a case). Often overlooked when people talk about the best midrange Dreadbox instruments

A few good sounds in here, but the majority sounds like stock daw plugin presets. Definitely not worth the 1400$ lol, would be way more reasonable at like 400-800 (??) max.

It doesn’t sound as great as I hoped in this demo. Might as well be due to the ROLI Keyboard or player, but I’m slightly underwhelmed. More demos are needed with a bigger variety of sounds/presets and more melodic sequences. I have heard enough of noisy detuned pads for now. Keeping my pre-order for now…
