Since you use Scandinavia and the Scandinavian Peninsula *almost* interchangeably, without explaining the difference, it's worth pointing out for viewers that Scandinavia≠The Scandinavian Peninsula. Scandinavia is the peninsula + Denmark. All 3 Scandinavian countries used to be partially based on the peninsula, and even though wars and the peace treaties have changed the borders, Scandinavia still refers to all 3 countries, but without oversea territories (Svalbard, Greenland and Faroe).

Yep, and neither Finland nor Iceland are part of Scandinavia, either, even though some people think they are. They are all considered Nordic, though.

I've thought about this too! I took the latitude of my apartment and scrolled over to Baffin Island and was pretty shocked how inhospitable the terrain seemed. Of course, even if the climate is comparatively toasty here, the abnormal amount of darkness in the winter is only a function of latitude, so that's still a thing.

Yes! I live in Norway, 71° North at the polar circle (+ 4000meters hehe). Its 8 degrees outside rn in November🙌
