Yes they are great to have and you can get hobbies versions for your home garage still very expensive. I try to let people know the plasma table isn't intended for our personal projects, we run a small fab buisness and this is our main bread and butter machine gets used every day for orders.

Looking awesome...would love to know how you determine ride height
@scrapingpavement6 жыл бұрын
Honestly it's based on the persons preference I enjoy to ride low so I set up my ride height low. But when I set up a 4 link now I set it at half travel of the airbag.
@PhatRides6 жыл бұрын
Woul half travel be when the bag is relaxed?
@scrapingpavement6 жыл бұрын
Not exactly if your bag compress to 3" and expands to 12" that means there's 9" of stroke so I would setup the suspension at 7.5" on the bag.

Trucks turning out really nice! Your customer is going to be very happy! I know I would be! Now that the brown nosing is out of the way, lol I wanted to run an idea by you. See if I'm missing something or if it's being done and I just haven't seen it before. I have put many a truck on air before, done complete tire to tire custom choppers, every body mod to a car that I can even think of iv done twice. Get it, twice of course it's a car! Lol anyway to the point here, I own a 93 Toyota pickup extra cab, 2 wheel drive fuxin duhh! Lol I've had it for some time now and I'm starting the build on it in a few weeks. My question or whatever this is would be as follows. On the frame pretty much at the leaf spring hanger give or take few inches, up to where the frame goes up to the engine sort of were you cut purple crush when u started the build back when. U did a stock floor body drop with new frame rails arguably one of the most intense mods you can do to a vehicle. Why can't you then make it a lot simpler then and instead of going from the top down go from the bottom up! If you stand a look at a Nissan or a Toyota from the side the frame pretty much only hangs past the cab or body right in the center there where I tried to explain a bit ago. You would have to do reinforcement like alover and stuff but slice the frame long ways off the bottom and plate it all that and it would lay rocker without you even touching a body bolt. No issues with things fitting cuz nothing would have moved. Am I crazy to think this or have u seen it or did I confuse you at all? Lol I'm good at the last part usually. But I would love to hear back to see what your take on it would be. Catch you on the flip side wheels down thrown Sparks! Fuck that was cheese....straight up cheese sauce.
@2011armymp6 жыл бұрын
If you do that your creating more work. Doing like you said. You would have to raise the motor and trans. My control arms on my frontier are damn near on the ground. So you would have to redo those. Just causes allot of work
@bo46386 жыл бұрын
I have wondered the same thing, just suspend the truck in the air "not really" but then cut 2 1/2 inches or what ever it takes to lay pinch weld off the bottom of the frame, X brace from frame rails and reinforce the hell out of it. Cant wait to follow the REPLY's.
@scrapingpavement6 жыл бұрын
First off thanks for the support! About your question there is a reason people do not do this... at least on a hardbody the motor xmember sits level with the bottom of the frame as well as you lower control arm. So if you were to cut the bottom of the frame off you would need to z the frame at the fire wall to get above the new frame cut. So you would be giving yourself just as much work. Some people will pull the body off and cut the top portion of the frame off and then box it or put a smaller tube inside and weld it. This allows you to do a sfbd without replacing the whole frame. Honestly though if the body is coming off it would be much easier to replace the frame rails while your at it.
@nujayfabrication80896 жыл бұрын
You couldn't cut off the bottom of the frame you would have to "z" the front section but you could replace the section under the cab and build new body mounts . Thats what i did to my hardbody to body drop it after bagging it 10 years ago . Now it has a 3/4 frame but starting on all new frame and lots of sheetmetal hopefully next spring .
@firstnamelastnameisallowed79436 жыл бұрын
Ad a reminder I did say that I was looking at if it was possible on the truck that I have and it is not a Nissan. Or a hard body. It's kind of a flopy body in some parts actually but not the point!! Lol the Toyota ex cab is close to the Nissan but nowhere near at the same time if that makes any sense. There are parts that are Bellow the rails or flush with them but everything that is will be leaving the building once the airide is put on. directly under the cab there is maybe 4 feet of the frame that is below the rocket pinch. Frame is also 5" tall right there little over and it is boxed again just in that area. My thoughts were alot of guys are doing different things on their trucks just to get them laid out and on the ground, and the their trucks also! What I wanted to do was ask around about it to get different inputs from others about it and I'm also going to be making a full frame for it so I figured for science...I can cut the shit out of that frame and see if it would work like I am seeing it in my head. If it lays frame and rockers at the same time then that would be the end goal, and to not have it fold In half or whatnot cuz that would not be something I would want to see on my truck!! Someone else's that would be funny as fuck! You would laugh don't lie. Another important thing I may have forgotten to mention is it is going to be unibodied also witch will be a HUUUUGE help in making it stiff again. Giggidy..not doing any of this right away still exploring options on what the end result will be and finishing up some other things first but thank to anyone that even read this crap this far!! Geez your awesome!! Pat your back now, lick a window, and as he said in this video, eat my ass, eat my ass, eat my ass. Lol wtf bye now!!!

any tips on cutting out the bed floor?
@scrapingpavement6 жыл бұрын
If you can get your hands on a plasma cutter it will make it a breeze. Unfortunately the torch on our machine is not meant for hand cutting so I went through about 7 cut off discs and 3 saw zall blades.
