Bagged out on King George Whiting at Venus Bay | Exploring Talia Caves

We started the day with an epic glass off at Venus Bay and headed out to try our luck for some squid after a few location tips from our mates, Jim and Kel. It was hard going, made even more frustrating by the fact that we could SEE the squid but they just weren't fired up enough to attack the jigs. We ended up with 5 though which was still a couple of feeds and fresh bait so definitely can't be mad at that! We also came across a Spider Crab which was super cool to see up close!
Since the weather was still so awesome, we headed back over to the whiting grounds we'd been finishing the last couple of days and it was so calm and clear that we were actually sight-casting for the KG's! Again though, they didn't seem to be super hungry so after persisting with them for a couple of hours, we decided it was time to go for a Hezza Slay.
The following morning was super windy so we went to Talia Caves for a look at The Tub and Woolshed Cave, which were both beautiful. When we got back to camp, the wind had eased enough that Jed decided to go for a solo mission to chase the KG's again. Totally ended up worth it, bagging out on King George, scoring his SA PB at 38cm and getting a nice Flatty as well!

Fantastic work. Nice size kg's and flathead. Love it how Kel has a blast out in the boat. Such great company for you. You can never get bored haha. Woodshed Cave would be a fantastic spot to photograph. I'm definitely looking forward to that. Well done, the both of you 🙌

Hello you 2 Love intro good 1 Nice haul of mixed bag got to be so tasty, haven't been able to get out their, had a unexpected trip into hospital Did some major damage to left shoulder " complete rotator cuff tear n torn bicep form shoulder, open cut surgery 4 screws in and at least 10 months rehab, in 2 way slig no mvment 4 8 weeks " So jed n kell Hope you catch a feed for me and enjoy it. @oldmate_adventures Thanks , a long way to go yet haven't been in pain like this before, on some heavy meds does help 50% not much sleep happening Ohh well shit happens, no pain no gain lol Looking forward to next episode 😀 Did it changing out flat tyre on dmax, were off road on very uneven ground had to jack higher off the ground to change, rolled tyre off the bead. Taking off slipped out of hands grabbed it 1 handed n sheer weight down wards tore shoulder. Anyway enough of my complaints Stay safe 🙏 ❤️

Cracker video Team Jelly. There are some fish measuring tubes out there (that might be able to be replicated using pvc pipe) one is called Fish EZE (that’s a clear plastic one with measurements, the other is called Slip N Flip. That one, the fish can be measured while still hooked, then unhooked & flicked out if undersize. Saved handling a slippery or worse loosing a fish over the side while measuring with those stickers 👍🏼🍻

Arrr yeah mate I have seen these 👍👍. Would definitely be handy but we target so many different species of fish it's all about space, weight and if you really need it. Yeah we sometimes have a little on hand that works a bit. Depends on how fast currents are flowing and sometimes burely brings in unwanted by-catch
