G'day mate just a quick question how come when you catch Samon you throw them back most of the time I myself have never caught one so I don't know what they taste like

Hey John mate, juvenile Salmon have to be over a certain size before legally allowed to keep them (usually around 30cm in most states) but I keep 1 every now and then but they are just a good land based sportfish. They aren't the best eating quality but fresh they are great in beer batter, smoked or in fish cakes. Just doesn't freeze too well. Strong oily flavour. You have to bleed straight away and remove a blood line while filleting. 👍👍, cheers mate!

Another fantastic spot. Reminds me of a dream i had the other night. Try to get our heavy hybrid caravan up a very similar sand track. Didn't make it. ahhaha. You should go back there, mate. Spend a few more weeks. That way, you can help pull us out. 😂 Lovely spot. 👌 I forgot to mention. I do love a good storm ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Great episode Jed might stop at Davenport on my way to WA do you think you would get a 16ft van in there? I have seen other KZbinrs camp there but you got to watch the tides I've been told.also you need to make your vids longer it's raining here in Adelaide and there's nothing to watch on TV.lol.😢

Cheers Heath 🍻, yeah enter and exit at low tides makes it so so easy. Though once you get into the dunes be prepared for some pin striping on the van and there is one small sand dune you'll have to send it on. Take crab nets if ya into blueys as I seen shells everywhere. Haha sorry mate, 😅

Isn't vinegar an acid? Like maybe not so good on an Ali boat? I was a big Pineocleen fan for most smells but this stuff Canesten Disinfectant Laundry Sanitiser, we saved a freezer that had frozen crays and fish in that a person unplugged and we didn't realise for 3 months over summer. Trust me when I say I'm impressed at what that laundry stuff did in getting rid of the smell, cause Pineocleen gave up.

Fantastic. Little late watching this one. Didn't have the best service while camping. Nice size flathead. I do love flatty. Do you have a water tank with a pump mate. Thought it would be good for a quick squirt down on the boat. Would only need a 40ltr tank. When we were towing the caravan home yesterday, all I could think of was taking it to another site. It's such a great feeling. 👌

Cheers Nath 🍻 👍👍, Yeah we have water tanks on van and 4wd with pumps but most of the time fresh water is very scarce and pumps flow too much water. I mainly like to flush the outboard so my 25lt bucket sits over the leg perfectly and I flush it before packing (just not in caravan parks) 👍👍. Take the setup through a few drive through car washes when we travel through towns.

Yeah most of the time it's not a full car wash just a quick $4 hose down just to get salt off. Flushing the outboard out I reckon is the main thing. Yeah mate hopefully ya'll get on the road one day 👍

Hi Jed, another cracking vid mate. I know you mentioned it briefly, but at the caravan park there at Venus, do they let you connect up a hose to give the boat a quick rinse off? Was thinking of getting a cabin over there maybe next year. If I was to tow the boat over from WA, would love the option of washing the salt off before hitting the road for WA. Hey there Mark! Cheers mate, much appreciated 👍👍! Arrr not 100% sure if it's allowed but everyone seemed to be doing it. It's probably frowned upon so people don't waste water and wash bait and blood around campsites. I just use a pump up pressurised 5lt jobbo to wash salt off boat trailer & boat. No one has ever complained when I do that. 👍👍 Let us know how ya go! Going to a few other spots in SA?

Thanks for the tips Jed, will work out some sort of plan. I always keep a hose in the boat for a clean up of the outlaw if the situation allows. Having moved from Brissie to Perth and driving across with my out law, I actually stopped in Venus on the way over. It looked a mint stop, but didn’t have time to get her out. Got Coral bay and hopefully Steep point this year. Hopefully, a few spots in SA & southern WA next year. Venus at the top, with maybe Streaky & I definitely want to check out Walpole on the way home after your amazing content from there😊 Hope the NT is a blast mate, I’m actually in Darwin for work, it’s amazing up here. To both you and Kel, keep up the amazing work😊

Cracker video Team Jelly. There are some fish measuring tubes out there (that might be able to be replicated using pvc pipe) one is called Fish EZE (that’s a clear plastic one with measurements, the other is called Slip N Flip. That one, the fish can be measured while still hooked, then unhooked & flicked out if undersize. Saved handling a slippery or worse loosing a fish over the side while measuring with those stickers 👍🏼🍻

@oldmate_adventures Thanks , a long way to go yet haven't been in pain like this before, on some heavy meds does help 50% not much sleep happening Ohh well shit happens, no pain no gain lol Looking forward to next episode 😀 Did it changing out flat tyre on dmax, were off road on very uneven ground had to jack higher off the ground to change, rolled tyre off the bead. Louth jetty gets a lot of squid, but that also means it gets fished hard and constantly, so can be hard work. Ideally you have the jig as close to the bottom as you can, you will catch heaps if you adopt Egi techniques and play the jig up and down, either a series of short fast jerks as a prawn or long single pulls as a fish rising. One of our best squid catching areas is along the coast between engine and fishermans point, drifting from the blue line out into 6-7m then move back in a bit along the beach is the go. We do best late evening and into dark for squid, and very much better for fish too. If it's bright you need to get out deeper. The squid will always strike when the jig is sinking. Unless you have got formal permission to fly a drone inside our parks, it is illegal in South Oz, so be aware of that too...

You should be able to run your pc on 12v, look at the input voltage and it'll probably be 19v or 20v. To bypass running it off your inverter, buy a dc-dc step up converter, get a 12v to ??v (whatever your pc needs, mine is 29v) converter, wire it from your 12v fuse box to the converter, then to your laptop 👍🏼 sounds complicated, but it's pretty easy.
