10k buy in or $500 buy in... it's tough losing flip after flip when you're making the right GTO plays. I got 1010 all in pre vs AK for 2 bullets in $400 bounty tourney this weekend. Lost two flips. Way she goes sometimes. Sick game 😅

Pls play cash. Post flop play is much more interesting than seeing flips. Sure trophies are nice, but thought process and maneuvering with analysis is much more interesting. Thanks! Great stuff. Keep up the sun run!

Ethan, your go for broke tourney style is great when you are sun running. However, no one runs hot the majority of the time. You need to find a balance and learn how to fold those mid level hands, especially on the river. That all in shove on a stone cold bluff full house board made no sense at all as it was an easy sniff out for the guy with middle pair 7’s. Bet 1/2 your stack and maybe he see’s it as a value bet vs. a stone cold bluff. If he calls at least you still have some chips. Tournaments are a marathon not a sprint.

Holy fuck was that a roller coaster of a video, tournament poker seems so brutal at times Like being a winning player is about long term optimal play and profitability but in a tourni, just playing well isn’t enough and you really gotta get lucky and run good Also I’m so psyched for the million dollar cash game you’re playing later this month, sending you my prayers bc holy fuck I’d be shitting myself with that much money on the table

I’m going to send this twice when or if you drop the video but today May24th I played as hustler casino first ever tournament and as I’m walking to the right area I bump into the one and only Rampage but I didn’t know and I said “excuse me sir” and he played in the high roller on live. As I sit and played for I believe 3 hours and 20 minutes Rampage is eating and I didn’t wanna be the fan to walk up and say all weird yo what’s up so I just said if I win or make to final table I’d say something. As the money was for 7th place I came in 11th. I lost being short stack with maybe 4 or 5 big blind and I had to go all in with Jacks and I’m going against A/10 off suit and the flop comes Ace, 10, 10 and I’m dead I see Rampage and was like next time I’ll be worthy but it was my first tournament ever.

I’m damn near about to give up on poker. I know people say this a lot but I’m getting so unlucky in the biggest spots. Most recent example, i flop a set agaisnt a tight player two different times, and BOTH times he goes runner runner for a four card straight the first time so he won with just a K. I kinda need to hold in those spots to be successful? I mean I got all the money in twice now ahead by miles and lose both pots, both of which were very large. $3500 difference on those two hands. We all expect to run bad sometimes but the math doesn’t seem to be adding up and it feels like in the worst spots. I trapped that guy twice and lost both times. Do I quit? Do I need to get better? Anyone else loose big pots like that? And the most important part is that these hands that I’m getting sucked out on are literally the biggest pots of the night. So make or break you. I flop a 95% ahead and lose twice.

🤬😡 4 betting light almost always comes back to fading a flush on a paired board with no fold equity and drawing thin just to over represent, only if you aren't being bluffed! this is true even if the flop has favored your range and they dont think you are on tilt. that is just the way it goes.
