Have never been a fan of PVP, however…….the 20 vs 20 is mad fun to me. People still don’t know how to be tactical to save their life, but it is fun n this is the ONLY game that I willingly play PVP 🤘🏾

As someone with thousands of hours in the game, you’ll die a lot, don’t get discouraged. Find a class that fits your vibe, aesthetic, all the best players can make nearly anything work. Try out everything, duel, die over and over again and you’ll eventually get good at 1v1 fights and feel confident before you know it you’ll be 1vxing like a champ.

I’ll also add, the pvp is deceivingly deep. Cooldown and stamina management, energy cooldown and stamina tracking, buff and debuff management, fortify stacking and stripping, spacing, movement, team synergies, rotations, burst combos, blocking, playing to the perks of your build… it’s what allows the best players to solo against 3 players if played perfectly

@@BrienAhernno, every video I’ve seen of people “destroying in PvP” They have the most farmed out builds and cracked gear. Dudes hit me for 15k in PvP arena. The most damage I can hit in one go is around 2k. Explain that one and don’t say gems, I’m fully slotted lol. The game is broken PVP wise, which is a shame. I picked soldier at launch, worst choice of my life lol. No one on KZbin really makes PvP videos or explaining anything. Everyone keeps the PVP secrets quiet. MAGE, BOW AND SPEAR/RAPIER. Those are the meta greasy builds.

Just tried 3v3 arena after 500h in the game mainly in PvE. Had the worst experience ever and got trash talked by a guy in our team because we were loosing. Not a very welcoming experience. I'll stick to open world PvP ;)

@@OryyytI’ve been PvP Islanding as a heavy melee Sword and Shield / Spear with the new update. I’ve fought ranged and melee. I’m wearing full BIS for my build, with exact 3 perk items I want. I did not start fresh, playing on Legacy. I have not noticed any difference when fighting ranged. If they’re using aim/target lock, it hasn’t stopped me from defeating them. I have not noticed any difference when fighting melee. I don’t get staggered with attacks any different than before the update.

Yes, that what the majority of players do. Eventually you can refine PvP and pve builds, but having a jack of all trades build is definitely doable. You won’t be the best, but you can be good.

Although I definitely appreciate the auto aim as a noob console player, and it does help up close.. During the faction race I was in yesterday, I found myself free aiming more often than not. A lot of fights took place out of "lock on" range. And I'm sure I'll find a sweaty KBM player someday, but I didn't feel at a total disadvantage. Even as a lowly level 35 lol. Popped a dex snack for +40 and I was hitting 1600-2000 with my bow 😎😂. Got a few kills and had a BLAST most importantly. Like genuinely I haven't had that much fun in awhile. Just a big battle that takes place in such a big area... Running from outpost to outpost fighting on the way. Reminded me of 2007ish Runescape days fighting with big f2p clans. I'm still trying to learn the game, I didn't even know what "races" were yesterday lol. Actually hyped to get home from work and grind a few levels till the next race while I come back to this video 😎

No mount sucks. Think of it this way, in open world and the new FFA zone, you can mount up after disengaging to survive or to chase. And it just makes travelling convenient.

Are arenas balanced in terms of stats and gear? Or does the gear you own factor into the matches? For example, in GW2, everything is balanced in instance pvp and the only thing that matters is a players skill.

When I played the world PVP was gate kept by the companies only the top players will get picked to do the PvP. You will end up doing unchallenged prestige runs to generate a PVP area conflict for your company. I never did OTP but I heard its totally unbalanced.

I’m on console and trust me it’s not an advantage over players w mouse and keyboard and decent aim. If you have aim bot you cannot get headshots you cannot lead targets and they will easily dodge most if not all of your attacks lol unless someone is running straight at you it’s a joke

Aim lock isn’t as OP as I initially thought, it’s highly inconsistent especially at any range past 15m. Controller seems a little stronger but is still far from the aimbot it was being referred to as. I know it’s had a nerf but it for sure isn’t game breaking by any means. It’s easy to counter simply by moving quickly.

To all new players: The PVP in this game, is the PVP that every single MMO SHOULD HAVE. No p2w, no chance, no evasion, no RNG, no nothing. Pure skill, creativity, anticipation, timing, and understanding space. You do not even NEED to wear gear to win in PVP against enemies (relevant videos on my channel). Just pick your 2 favourite weapons, disregard the "meta" or the "experts", and TRULY MASTER them.

The lock on system is horriple for pvp... Anyone can beat anyone 80% based on luck and perks, because its essentially just a turn based ability spam, with some dodge possibility that is somewhat skillbased. But if the pc/console just straight up gives you aimbot in pvp, then where's the fun competetive part? I personally think lock on should only be in pve, pvp is supposed to be human input vs human input, that's the whole poit of online pvp games unless you're into turn based games with a ton of luck involved with a victory.

PvP was the only good thing about NW and they ruined it. I took a break from NW because there was really nothing they added to the game in forever. I'm sitting at over 2800 hrs played and was hoping to maybe get back into it, but no way I'm coming back. I'm all for the inclusion of console players, I used to be one myself. But a lock on system was NOT the way to go. Some sort of aim assist would have been better or if not just separate the servers for players that want full action based skilled pvp.

If you are mostly a pve player you will get bored after 60-80 hrs. If that’s what you want, I’m happy for you. The leveling process is very satisfying.
