Thank you both for this great effort and for taking the risk of going there. I returned there two years ago to take some photos after an absence of 33 years. The place had an eerie calmness to it and is looks old, neglected and dilapidated, albeit, I still see it as our beautiful Alma Mater, full of happy memories and culture to hold its own. With man's greed, foolishness and ignorance, nothing in this world is eternal except the creator himself.

I attended BC for only two years. But those two years forever changed my life. Until this day, I wish had the opportunity to graduate from this school. It truly breaks my heart to see how it looks now. One day, it'll be restored to what it used to be.

اخ والله دمعت عيني.... كطالب سابق في كلية بغداد.. بكل فخر و بكل او اعتزاز اكول كلية بغداد احسن من مدارس الاعدادية اب امريكا الي دا اشوفها هسة...بس اريد اعرف الحكومة وين كاعد تودي المليارات!! الاهتمام بالمدارس مو احق من الاهتمام بمجالس العزاء و اللطم

what happened to BC is a clear and honest reflection to what happened to Baghdad and the rest of the country , I hope that the loving and honest men and women of Iraq will prevail in the near future and revive this lovely school for the benefit of our new generation.

والله سبب اﻻهمال ان هصا الصرح الراقي حسب على النظام السابق لكون ابناء المسؤولين السابقين كانو طلاب في هذه الكلية.

All of Iraq suffered from total neglect under Saddam. That’s why there is no intellectual infrastructure capable of rebuilding it. Baghdad College was one of the institutions that were systematically destroyed by the regime well before its buildings deteriorated. Buildings can be rebuilt relatively easily and quickly. What’s a lot harder and takes a generation or two is rebuilding the Iraqi people’s spirit, values and ethics.

look man I am not saying that what you have talked is wrong but IRAQ get into a war and the american army took the school as a military base and you have no right to talk like this until you come to here and what i saw then you can judge and I think that the Jesuit fathers will be proud that their school got into such a dirty war and it still one of the best in Iraq if it wasn't in world PS that the IRAQI government now doing a reconstruction to school. I am a proud Baghdad college student

For the non-conspiracy camp, this may be another confirmation of the misconceived ineptitude of our great people. Conspiracy it must be by those with historical greedy eyes on our land. But, let them fret; it is still ours and this great school can still be repaired or replaced. BC class of 78
