I think it is quite incredible. The resilience of these people all that they have gone through the war, the death, the loss of every single thing they have ever had, and how they have rebuilt their civilization. God bless these people may God bring this place, peace, love and forever happiness.

Hi Emma, it was very interesting for me to see the city of Baghdad, I have seen glimpses of Iraq from time to time on TV but never seen the streets this close, that's why your videos are always so special and very educational because it's sad when most people judge the book by its cover, that's why we need a good soul like you to show us the reality of these countries, the hospitality is overwhelming. I enjoyed every minute of your interaction with the locals. Thanks so much for showing us around. Yes! be safe "as always" dear sister!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏💓💓💓💓

Yes it’s always been on my radar and i would love to go there and explore but it’s not so easy with a British passport, independent travel isn’t allowed , it’s a lengthy process and have to be with an approved tour company or guide … if it was a simple process I’d have been years ago ! Maybe things will change one day ! I’ll get there one of these days …

@@WanderingEmmaI used to be a tour guide in Iran. The law regarding American and British tourists is stupid but the guide won’t interfere in your interactions with people. They follow the itinerary that the agency gives them. Most of the guides are cool and open minded. It’s way less chaotic than Iraq and Afghanistan. Better in every aspect.

Go to the country of Jordan 🇯🇴 The capital is pretty modern but there are many many beautiful places to see such as the Governorate of Mafraq which has the Byzantine ruins of Umm Al Jimal and Jerash governorate which has the ruins of the Greco-Roman walled settlement. If you go in the spring time and venture into some of the smaller towns and villages you will see green grass covered rolling hills with shepherds tending to the flocks of sheep. Many families park their cars on the side of roads that have beautiful grassy areas and have a picnic/BBQ in the evenings. You can try the traditional foods such as mansaf which is lamb cooked in a type of yogurt called jameed which is made by local Bedouins (nomads). Also try some sweets such as kunafa. The people are humble and friendly and hospitable. There are several castles there as well as biblical sights such as the place Jesus was baptized and the Dead Sea. (Totally worth going to the Dead Sea! ) Jordan is a safe place to go for female solo travelers. They do have visa on arrival for UK citizens.
I arrived here in Baghdad two months ago,I can tell the people are friendly ❤❤

TRAVEL Travel, because if you don’t travel then your thoughts won’t be strengthened, won’t get filled with ideas. Your dreams will be born with fragile legs and then you end up believing in tv-shows, and in those who invent enemies that fit perfectly with your nightmares to make you live in terror. Travel, because travel teaches to say good morning to everyone regardless of which sun we come from. Travel, because travel teaches to say goodnight to everyone regardless of the darkness that we carry inside. Travel, because traveling teaches to resist, not to depend, to accept others, not just for who they are but also for what they can never be, to know what we are capable of, to feel part of a family beyond borders, beyond traditions and culture. Traveling teaches us to be beyond. Travel, otherwise you end up believing that you are made only for a panorama and instead inside you there are wonderful landscapes still to visit. - Gio Evan
