It's a shame I cannot touch them through the screen, but now at least I know what to look for when shopping around. Thank you, Crystal. You are a very good teacher! 🤗🙏🏻💜

Kid mohair is usually a fine yarn you would double up with another yarn. when using a mohair with another, you would also end up increasing the gauge and so you should also use a larger needle/hook to make your project light and lofty. I did a partner up with yarn that was considered a DK weight and added mohair and used a larger needle for the top I was creating. It just made the fabric feel so beautiful and fluffy with a wonderful light halo

Yah! More yarn. Crystal I got my Speckled Hen yarn today, it is to die for. They twisted dark brown yarn around the lilac yarn to give it some texture for contrast color. They twisted white yarn around the lilac for the main color. It looks raised kind of like bumps but not. I cast on, and I'm doing the knit 2 purl 2 ribbing. The yarn is gorgeous, and so soft, very scarfable. This is my first tube sleeve scarf. The yarn is 120 yards a ball on size 5 circular needles. Love the mohair color, and the cakes with alpaca, wool, and cotton. Interesting you say you can make a hat out of the cotton yarn. I was told by the yarn store cotton is not good for knitting hats. I guess crochet is different. I knitted a hat with Rowan yarn really nice yarn. I worked with Noro yarn that I got on sale at Annie & Company on upper east side. Beautiful yarn but, I was disappointed with the cowl I knitted with it. It wasn't as soft as I would like. I think Noro Silk Garden is softer. I got the Noro Ito yarn.

I recently got some of the ella rae denim dk at an lys when i was traveling. I LOVE denim style yarns. It is lovely but they are so pricey i rarely buy ella rae. I also have a couple balls of the usun (mirasol makes beautiful yarns) that i got at a lys, for some future knitting project (when i actually get proficient). Update: i bought 4 balls at a lys and then 4 more that i hunted down online. I'm currently making a mandala top out of one of the colors. It is lovely. It's definitely on the thin side of a 3 weight. I'm so sad it it's discontinued. I love mirasol yarns. Rowan makes lovely yarns but, yeah, it sure isn't cheap. Their summerlite cotton is fingering weight and mercerized. And lovely to work with. The cotton you got is cotton glacé. Glacé fruit is fruit preserved in sugar. Such fruit is shiny, which is why this cotton is so named. Glacé is pronounced like "glass-say." I suspect that cotton would still be garment-worthy because it will soften up after washing. Also: the Rowan website says that it is mercerized, even though the label may not indicate that. Noro yarns are pricey but beautiful. Most of them contain some silk, which explains some of the price. The fact that they come from Japan is another part of the price point, I'm sure. Juniper Moon makes wonderful yarn anyway but that cumulus is especially incredible. I've almost bought it a couple of times but haven't because i don't have a plan for it, yet. Lol OK, I love Malabrigo yarns but have never seen their cotton. Clearly i need to hunt some down. Ha!
