I’m working on this beauty right now. Just FYI, there are several places where Crystal says single crochet but demonstrated double crochets in the groups of three. I suggest watching closely, since Crystals’s videos are so easy to follow. I can’t wait to post the pic of my Olive on the FB group. Such a beautiful pattern. Thanks Crystal!

I noticed it too, but I knew what she meant. It was in the middle of the " checkerboard" pattern which I knew was always double crochets. By the time it happened I understood the pattern well enough to know.

I didn’t make it to row 10 before I had to grab some new yarn and a hook and restart the whole thing so I could follow along. This pattern is irresistible! And I’m on row 12 now and it makes sense, I’m not worried about getting lost in the pattern. Once again, Crystal, you have created a masterpiece! Thank you! But my sister won’t be happy that I stopped working on the blanket she wanted… 😊

You did it again with another beautiful shawl pattern. I enjoyed making this one too, even though I messed up and had to rip several rows. But then its the journey and not the destination. I guess you can call them the open or checkerboard diamond and the do-hicky diamond. I mean the solid diamond, LOL.

Gloria B here…I also am Greek, my grandfather came from Athens Greece, his last name was Pappas. The name of this shawl reminded me of Jesus in the olive grove and that’s what I thought of when I read the name “Olive Leaf” shawl, I’m excited to make this, I will post a picture when I am finished. Crystal, to help me keep track, I would call the doohickies trees and the chain spaces 'branching' out from them branches. And, of course, the diamonds were diamonds. Thank you for all you do to break things down 101 style so we can enjoy crocheting fabulous items as well. 😊

The pattern stitch is called 'cobwed'.. I made a doillie using this pattern about 35 years ago...lol. it was one of my favorite snd first doillie that I made! I'm going to finally buy my first huge cake type of colorful yarn and make this! Thank you for the tutorial. I love that colorway!!
