Smart to keep things precious to you out of storage. When we moved to Australia for a 3 year posting, many things went into storage in the States. Sadly there was a major flood that hit the warehouse. Almost everything in storage was either damaged or lost.

I too am using smaller bags. I have no use for heavy, large bags that hurt my neck, shoulders and back! I carry a minimum of items anymore. So I’m interested in what you have been carrying. Hello my friend. I am so anxious to find a house and get back to a more normal routine. It's so much harder to make videos when I'm still trying to find my way around, find new doctors, house hunt, etc. But I am determined to do what I can since it makes me so happy! Take care .

So true! When it comes to items I want to keep, I always say what my mom said, "I'd rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies". I find that is true with so many things. Keep the ones that are the most important to you and let the rest go.

Hi Lynn! I completely agree. Moving from a 7000 sq. ft. house to a 3 bedroom temporary apartment while paying to store all the house contents really made us reduce the amount of items we wanted to take with us. We still have way too much stuff, but since we haven't found a house yet, it's hard to know what things we will want. I'm pretty sure we will be getting rid of a lot of the stuff we are storing, as it won't fit the decor vibe of wherever we move. It will be interesting! I hope you are doing well!

Jennifer- you were smart to keep all your family heirlooms out of storage. I did the same thing when we move. I also held on to all my bags, which are in my closet and my jewelry. Good luck housing. It’s so challenging in the current climate.

Hi Christina. We are all doing well and finding our way around the area. House hunting is so difficult. Lots of buyers and almost no inventory. This could take a lot longer than we first anticipated. Snow in SoCal is always a strange delight...ha! I know my sister has been getting very cool temps and lots of rain.

This evening, I decided to rewatch some of your videos (I do it from time to time). You were my first KZbinr ever! So, tonight, I rewatched your 2 videos about your family trip to the Netherlands in Spring 2016!!! My daughter is studying in Scheveningen since August 2022. And I have been at least 8 times since then in The Hague: flat research 🥵, move, meals prep during exam period, ... It's crazy but I didn't manage to visit Amsterdam once!!! I always wanted to see this city, the beautiful fields of tulips, the Grachten, ... Spring is coming. 🤞for me!!!

Thank you! And yes, it took 3 days to drive down here with our cars full of all the important things we didn't want to keep in storage. Which required us to unload both cars at each hotel stop. It was an ordeal to say the least. My car held 3 huge bins of my best bags...including my BIrkin! (and a bin of my jewelry, too!)

I absolutely agree because I too have carried smaller bags since the pandemic. I think many of us have gotten accustomed to carrying the essentials. Plus many are working remotely and large bags just aren’t needed as much. I’ve sold, donated and gifted about half of my own collection and I feel like it’s still too much 😂 I’m going to make myself rotate bags and see if I still like them enough to keep. Otherwise I’ll offer them to my daughter, etc. Thanks for sharing about selling your items. I’ve only worked with The Real Real and more options are always a good thing ❤

Yes! Totally agree. I have always changed my bags out often depending on outfit, event, weather, etc. Rotating bags really helps you determine what you like and don't like about them.

Hi Elaine. Oh, the house hunting is really difficult. Too many buyers and not enough sellers. Plus we are too picky. However, we are enjoying the new area and the fantastic weather we are having this time of year!

Hi! The house hunt is an enormous struggle, but we are constantly waiting for the perfect (or close enough) house to pop up. In the meantime, we are glad to have our important items with us here. They take up an entire bedroom of the apartment, but I'm much more comfortable having them near.

No, I really haven't regretted selling any of these bags, luckily. It is always a bit nerve wracking when selling... but so far I have been happy to make room for other bags I actually use more than I ever used those sold bags.
