The bags of milk 😂 I forgot about that! But it’s not as common in Nova Scotia, but even my family in Ontario/Quebec have no answers

As a Canadian, I can't really say about bags of milk I guess it's just something you're just use to growing up with. That being said, we don't put milk in water dispensers but my mum usually puts her milk in the vegetable crisper.

The answer about the bagged milk is packaging and shipping logistics. Bottles take up a lot of room and remote places might not have facilities big enough to keep all the bottles they'd need between restocking. Rolls of plastic sleeves are a little easier to store. I think the bags(once filled) also take up slightly less space than the bottles of the same volume, so you can move more bags, more efficiently. The difference isn't massive, but Canada is, so companies have to get good at moving products in and out efficiently. That said, you live in a city, so you have the option between bag, carton, or bottle. I'm not using a whole lot of milk these days, oso when I do I just buy a carton, but when I'd use a lot of milk the bags were great, and good value

Oh, and in terms of how you use them, there are usually little hard plastic jugs near the milk that have an oval shape, you put one of the bags in there, make sure it goes all the way to the bottom, then snip a small hole in the corner opposite the handle, then you can pour from the bag. Takes a little getting used to, I'm sure, so be careful if you do try it. If you're looking for content, trying it for the first time might make for a fun short haha

Milk in bags was developed as an alternative to milk bottles. When I stayed in Ontario most people have like a jug you put the bag into to for pouring purposes. Also you don't have an accent, you speak properly 😂

In Alberta we no longer have bags of milk. 3L jugs are the biggest we have.
