As I watched your VLOG on Baguio, I was taken back to when my wife and I were there, as we often were when we traveled to the Philippines. My wife was born there in 1945, later the family moved to Pagdalagan in San Fernando just to the west of Baguio. Our first trip in 1980 was fun and fantastic. It was then that I learned that not everyone had hot water for the showers...ooo man it was cold. Over the following years, we made 14 trips to the Philippines, a few of them to include the Philippines. My wife died in 2018, and covid-19 has created a wall that is difficult for me to medically breach. Enjoy your visit there, as usual, you will find great spots, and not so great spots, but it is always to be found, is the fun of discovery.

For you to enjoy more of Baguio, and while you are here might as well look for a transient place than living in a hotel. Where you can rent a one bedroom place for like 4-8 thousand a month. Depends on your criteria of a place. At least, you can enjoy buying and cooking fresh produce from the market. Welcome to Baguio.

I've been to Baguio several times. You should go to the following which I believe best tourist spots: - Mirador Eco Park - Igorot Stone Kingdom - Tam-Awan Village (near Igorot Stone Kingdom, 10 minute walk along the road) - Mount Costa - Diplomat Hotel - SM Baguio Sunset Deck (come around 4:30pm to 5:30pm) - Mines View Park - Camp John Hay (there are a lot of tourist spots/activities within this tourist spot like a trekking trail, parks, cemetery of negativism, etc. Need one whole day I think.) - Stobosa Valley of Colors - Bell Church (near Stobosa) There you go. Enjoy your travel.

"Where's the RUINS?" This cracked me up, Marshall. lol But the original lay-out of the cafe is what i loved more. There were changes because of the hotel at the back and a fire from not long ago. The coffee, bread and pastries there are the sought after signature items you'd keep coming back for.

Wow Marshall--I'm really looking forward to these Baguio posts! I've never been there, but it looks very colorful and clean, and Burnham Park was so pastoral and pretty! I think those were actual weeping willow trees along the water there! I think I wouldn't mind living there, it seems to have a different vibe than other parts of the Philippines. I wonder if there are many expats living there? I'm hoping that you see more plants and garden areas, and that you'll be able to buy some strawberries! Have fun!

oh wow enjoy Marshall, you made it just in time before the lockdowns. We've been going there a lot too the last few months. My recommendations 1: The Manor hotel - you can just walk in and just get a coffee and then explore their famous garden. 2: Volante restaurant at Camp john hay (The manor is also in camp john hay, its an old US military base and is mostly pine forest) 3: Forest bathing Trail - its about a 1 hour beginner level hike (just a simple walk really, no climbing), again located at Camp John Hay... in fact this one should be no.1, its by far my favorite thing to do as the views are amazing and its a proper forest trail so its safe but beautiful at the same time. You'll usually only pass 3-4 groups of people along the way. Best to start the trail at the entrance next to the butterfly farm in camp john hay, when you see the butterfly farm infront of you go down the alley on the left side, dont be put off by dog sounds, theyre in cages. You know when you're nearly half way through the trail as you see American embassy in the middle in the forest which is pretty cool, cross their little roadway and continue down the steps. 4: Lemon and olives - if you get their early you can sit outside on the balcony and see some amazing views. 5: Japanese war tunnels in Botanical gardens.
