You always need to remember that not all boats can take pounding like that and not start coming apart or showing stress cracks. Sometimes you need to back off the the throttle unless you want to damage your vessel.

Great video and loved they way he described the Sea Ray 650 flybridge. I've been interested in the same model and now getting this young man's perspective was awesome.

Great vid. Being a boater from the Florida Keys, I never liked those pod drives, and they are appearing on every boat.

Yeah, looks like dude lost a pod! Same thing happened to a friend in Bimini

That’s why you don’t rely on the fancy joystick and thruster controls and why is any captain beating the hell out of the boat in that weather.

Beautiful yacht

The Sea Ray L 650 is one of the most beautiful yachts ever made. It's solid build quality and inspired design whoops the pants off even the finest European brands.

Curious ... On the way back in from Bimini did you have to clear customs?

Nice Boat! BTW what happened to the other boat? Did it rip the port shaft and propeller off?
@ChrisFinck7 жыл бұрын
pvp64 Thanks! So the Azimut has PODS on them, if you are not familiar look up how they work. But basically long story short, the yacht hit something in the Channel and popped both the middle and port side off!

at 0:40 you can see it is a L590 Fly, not a L650 Fly

The boat you rode in is the L590. This is supported by the fact in the begging of the video you show the swim deck with a red jet ski and an American flag. At the end of the video, right before he says it's time to tour, you can see the host he rode on because his shoulder on the far right side bottom screen. Different boats and would have been nice to let us know. But good content.

Heyo! So we had the L590 for our trip. The L650 was next to it which I got to walk through.

That is why I'd prefer a conventional a shaft drive every time, as they are time proven.
@smokendt5 жыл бұрын
They shear away by design, unlike a shaft that may or may not break its shaft seal and sink the boat.
@robertfad16113 жыл бұрын
@@smokendt you are correct. If PODS were junk you would not see them on so many new builds across all manufacturers. I have them on my 42 flybridge cruiser and absolutely love them. Straight shafts will always have there place in the market, but the PODS offer so many advantages.
