I'm going to share words from the best eulogy I ever heard. I've heard a lot of eulogies at a lot of funerals, many of them for cancer patients. My father said about my mother "I couldn't ask to bring her back the way she was suffering". But an old Polish Catholic Priest had a better way of putting it. "Dyin' isn't half as sad as not livin' while you're alive" I think that is one of the most profound statements I've ever heard. and I hope it helps you in some small way.

I'm lost in the light I pray for the night To take me, to take you too After so many words Still nothing's heard Don't know what we should do So if someone can see me now, let them see you It was my greatest thrill But we just stood still You let me hold your hand 'til I had my fill Even countin' sheep Don't help me sleep I just toss and turn right there beside you So if someone could help me now, they'd help you too. They'd help you too See you through All the hard things we've all gotta do Cause this life is long And so you wouldn't be wrong Bein' free leavin' me on my own! And I held my own Still I rattled your bones I said some awful things and I take them back If we would try again Just remember when Before we were lovers, I swear we were friends So if someone could see me now let them see you Let them see you See you through All the hard things we've both gotta do Cause this life is long So you wouldn't be wrong Bein' free here with me on my own! I love that little shake he does at 1:54 - its on my list of warm things like hazelnut coffee and fresh-out-of-the-laundry-socks. The overall tenderness of this song is so attractive; at 3:18, that face is a portrait of all the unbearable lightness of leaving and being left behind, a stare going far deeper than the previous shot of the eternal cosmic space. Oh this is so very nice, and so very tender.

@ it’s been absolutely gut wrenching.. they’re 4, 5 & 6 and I hope they can actually remember him, and not by the stories I tell and the photos.. it’s been 2 weeks and it still feels like I was just told what happened.. the backlash I’ve gotten from some of his friends and family hasn’t been helping either.. I left him so why am I grieving so badly for him. He’s the love of my life and we had no idea that a brain tumor is what caused his behavioral switch. No other symptoms until 2 months after I left.. if only I could have held on a little while longer but my children’s safety was more important than what I was feeling and none of his friends or family know what was truly happening.. I love him with everything I have. I hope he knew that

@@emilytheisen5948I don’t know you, but thinking of you. Don’t let your kids forget their dad. So sorry for your loss.
