I have an Acebeam W30, looks almost identical in specs, LEP flashlights are so damn cool. I got the 95CRI version so it's a lot warmer than the standard cool whites, it looks exactly like a beam of sunlight at night. I think it was like $40 more than the standard cool white but I'm glad I got it. I guess they don't make them anymore but there's a number of new ones like this to take its place. If my W30 ever shits the bed I'll probably consider this one, as long as it comes in the high CRI output.

So after picking one up for free because I did not want to pay a ridiculas price for something I may use occasionally or not at all I can rest my suspicions about this narrow beamed LEP thrower. 1st off I have collected many lights over the years including building my own as a hobby so I am very well familar with lights that are useful and those which are like this that are nothing more than a party toy to show off to your friends. This LEP is not focusable, the beam itself is very narrow meaning the farther out the throw the less you will see, even close up object are washed out by the lights intensity. This is something you would never want to use to check on cattle at night or hunt with. I can see this only useful if you were hiking and got lost but that's about it. The awesomeness the first time you use this will wear out quickly after using it a few times in which you realize it isn't something practical for edc. I think it's absurd these chinese flashlight makers charge ridiculas prices on these products especially how cheap they can get the materials and components in their country vrs others. I wouldn't give no more than $30.00 for most of these flashlights/LEPs. Most of these products don't last long and trying to get them serviced is almost laughable because you have to ship them back to China and that's if they honor their warrenty. Most Chinese manufacturers will put the blame on the buyer and try weaseling out of warrenty repair. My suggestion as a collector is buy lights that have practical use because if you ever have to sell them you can find buyers much quicker.

Search and rescue teams. Self defense. If you're lost and need to signal where you are. The range of this LEP (Laser Excited Phosphor) light is 2.9 km or 2900 meters. It can be a distraction up to 22 miles away. Plenty of practical uses for the light. Just not very common occuring necessity for those uses.

Buddy! So mint! When I was young, my Uncle was a Firefighter and had some rad flashlights. I don't know if his best one was one of theirs, but it looked like the light was shining on the Moon lol. Could see it go past it. Had to be way out in the mountains for it to work though. But seeing yours light up everything in front of it like that, I now see why it looked like it reached the Moon, back then.

@@Everyday_Railroading Hi Matt, Actually I bought it just for fun, but I think it is useful in case of calling for help and emergency situations, this searchlight can be seen from a distance of 3 km which will make it easier to find you.

@@acarpenter007 - Thanks! I'm somewhat a flashlight nerd and have some nice, expensive torches. I don't have one of these though, and was trying to figure out if it's for fun or how some people may use it in a practical manner. Nonetheless, I want one! Now, just gotta decide what to go with. Something nice and powerful.

It's not really a flashlight when it's that concentrated to a small space and so bright that you cant see what you're trying to aluminate because its now doing the same as the dark just opposite
