Bahia Honda State Park Florida Keys

We loved staying in the Florida Keys, and getting into Bahia Honda State Park for a couple nights was the icing on the cake! What an absolutely gorgeous place and definitely our favorite Florida State Park yet! Snorkeling in the shallow clear water was lots of fun. We learned, as new snorkelers, that being able to practice in the shallow waters off the beach would be helpful getting comfortable to the snorkel gear, before snorkeling in deep water, as we did for the first time at the John Pennekamp, a couple days before. The Old Bay Bridge was great for amazing views and sunsets!
Bahia Honda State Park has some stunning waterfront RV & Camp sites. Almost all the site have privacy barriers. Our 40 Ft Diesel Pusher just fit in our site length wise, but some of the site can fit larger RVs over 40 Feet. The sites have water and electric, with a nice large bathhouse in the center to share.
It can be hard to get an RV spot there without booking far in advance. However, last minute cancelations can happen, creating openings! That’s how we got in! I know further down the keys they are because of the naval base, but think some of the northern keys they are fine! We flew a drone on Fiesta Key with no issues!
