Just got home from here. DO NOT DO IT. Unless you want to spend the majority of the time waiting for trams or walking very far way to the beach or if you are unlucky and have a room far away from the lobby; stay clear away from. Go to Bahia Principe Tulum instead. The beach is way nicer and its definitely more consolidated.

@@tim03b_48 wow good point. But, we do like the walks. We enjoyed it in Punta Cana, and in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Thanks so much for the excellent and informative tour of Grand Coba! My wife and I have booked a week here later this month. We 're hoping you might be able to clarify something for us. We've read in a number of reviews that Coba guests can purchase "upgraded" bracelets that will allow you access to the other Bahia resorts. They mentioned it was about $15 US per person, per day. Have you heard anything similar? We would love to be able to access the beach at Tulum, but didn't know if we would be turned away or not. Anyway, thanks again for such a great breakdown. We're even more excited than we were before!
@WherewegoingNext Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! No, we haven’t heard about the bracelet 🤔 as you saw in the video, there is a special beach access allocated to Coba guests - but what we missed showing in the video was the small snack/drink bar at the Coba beach. You can get refreshments at the beach even as a Coba guest 👍🏻 you can walk the Tulum beach and see if it will be worth it for you to buy the day pass, but the beach is nicer on the Coba side anyway 👌🏻👌🏻 you won’t be turned away if you want to walk the beach, (there’s no one patrolling the beach) but you might not be able to sit on the Tulum loungers or use their bars/restaurants etc. Hope that helps and have a great trip! We loved the Grand Coba 😊

Nice video, unsure with which hotel to pick between coba and tulum we have 18month and 5yr old is it worth the extra £500 to stay in tulum
@WherewegoingNext7 ай бұрын
The main differences are: proximity to the beach and overall look and styling. Coba is a 5ish minute cart ride to the beach (with a designated section and a drink and snack bar), whereas Tulum is right on the water. Coba has more traditional decor and more dated rooms, whereas Tulum’s much more modern and has newly renovated rooms. Besides that, the service and food are great at both. They also both have excellent splash pads/pools and kids areas 👍🏻 I would say, it depends how important the beach is on your trip versus how much time you’re going to spend at the pool.
