Been to all the resorts he has mentioned we know book Akumal because its the best location and you get to use all the other resorts and dine at all the restaurants and use all the bars. If you book the others you will be limited to were you can eat and drink or enjoy shows. We are going next week to Akumal again for a couple of weeks.

if you stay at Grand Coba, can you access the bar/restaurants at the other location (Grand Tulum and Akumal)?

You can only access designated Coba bar at beach and restaurants. Al a carte you can book at the other resorts. It books up fast so reserve ASAP

If you upgrade you can access all. $15 per person per day. It’s worth the upgrade at least last few days of the trip.

Our favourite is Akumal because you get unlimited a la carte service in the restaurants. It was recommended to us and we have stayed twice. We stayed at Coba in May/ June 2024, booking only 3 days before departure. What a bargain, everything was perfect, as we expected. We would definetly go back to Coba for the price but Akumal is better value. Highly recomended

Is it better the Grand Tulum or Coba for families with toddlers? It seems that the Grand Tulum have playgrounds and more activities for kids.

It has been done up and has a full water park for younger kids. From what I saw, Tulum is better because Coba is in the jungle with hundreds of mosquitoes, and it is still bad at tulum but not as bad.

if you book Akumal you will have access to Coba and Tulum. If you book Tulum you can go to Coba. Tulum has been fully renovated.

I went to the My Bahia Website and this is the info I got "Access to the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum hotel à la carte restaurants (except the buffet) via prior reservation." doesn't seem super clear but I guess you can only use the buffet at the Coba side. which is a Very Good Buffet I must say. Hope this helps.

ust there, and in my opinion it does not I repeat it does not measure up to other resorts for the same amount of money that is. I will compare it to one of a similar size and price. Barceló vs Principe bahía The condition of the rooms and over all areas are much better at Barceló, the entertainment is for sure much better at Barceló, there's a theater in both but the one in Barceló it's better located so you don't miss a show. One of the major problems at Principe B. Is the transportation between and to the places, you will spend a long time waiting for your ride and no you won't be able to walk it's not that close! Specially if you stay at the Sian Kann ! The pools are smaller . Food was hit and miss you don't want to be a bit late in the buffets or you may be waiting for food to arrive . No top shelf alcohol not even for the luxury customers! The place looks is outdated The locals do say it has gone down ! I think Principe is spreading too thin and it can't keep the places running like it should! My biggest surprise was that they keep the water glasses, towels, sheet etc in room/ storages at every building in an open area where is incects and problly mice( I did not see them but..) have free roaming! I was hell nooooo! I asked a maid and she said it was the supply rooms . There was trash outside the rooms and the beach was not even taken cared of ,the were some electrical cables sticking out !!! I was how can this place be so forgotten! I stayed at the Sian Kann because it was the luxury adults side of the complex buy boy I was in a surprise to see the lack of upkeep I can only imagen the Coba ! I was at the Royalton in the Riviera and thatone is hands down a luxury resort and the money was only 100 more!!! The seaweed was horrible but then again is how the Riviera Maya is anymore but at least don't charge us full price!!! No discothecs !! Just a silent disco ! You look like a tweaker dancing with no music playing ( just your eaphones) Barceló has two ,adults and teens! So if you can chose between Principe and others resorts ,I will suggest to read also their reviews because you may be spending your vacay in a place that you wont be too happy about

Barcelo is great but our last stay at Tulum was amazing. I guess it really depends on what you are looking for in a vacation.
