I'm glad you enjoyed the video. This place has always piqued my curiosity, so I was happy to finally go and wander through it. It's a unique forest considering where most of the cedars grow on the mountain sides. Thanks for watching! ~ Mike

I totally agree! It would probably be best to add it to Great Basin National Park since its just across the hwy., but a National Monument designation would be nice and is something that a presidential executive order could accomplish quickly. It's a really cool and unique forest, with some sad and unfortunate history attached to it that could be made right (partially) with official recognition and protection. Thanks for watching! ~ Mike

It's a sad legacy. I had initially just found this place to be an ecological curiosity (and it is), but after looking into it more, it was revealed to be another depressing chapter on how the Native Americans were treated by the early settlers in this country. All the more reason to protect areas like this. ~ Mike

@@AbouttheJourney Thank you for your awareness. I am somewhat shocked that you do not have much more viewers. I appreciate your natural approach, beautiful narration and awesome filming . You wind up in some gorgeous locations and I long to be there relaxing with my dog Jasper and breathing in the silence. Keep up the great supply of videos, Mike. I'm 76 now and things are not quite as easy as my early years but I still like to give it a shot when I feel up to it, especially BLM locales. Also enjoy your canine pals. Best to you.
