Hey pal. I believe you are having vapor lock with the way your fuel line is routed. I had the same thing on my shovel. advice from north Georgia USA. I like your channel keep it up

But how to fix this fault my man?
@erwin23312 жыл бұрын
You will have to get a vented gas cap.
@unroof2 жыл бұрын
Next time I'll install it without the filter and with the shortest hose I can find to verify!
@rogerchambers13092 жыл бұрын
Yep you need a vented gas cap

@@taylorsukoshi6126 with the gas hose and fuel filter located so low between the cylinder that's the hottest part of the engine. It makes the gas boil and will cause vapor lock. You can take off your gas caps put it will not help the gas flow because there is a pressure bubble in the gas line or filter. Cheap transparent gas lines are bad to cause cause this but the heavy duty line with the cloth cover are much better. I believe the gas in his filter is getting to a boiling temperature. :)

Hmm, maybe fuel pressure lock up. Tank vent or crossover? I'm sure with your knowledge it'll be fixed in no time. Nice ride and video as usual, thanks for the trip. See ya next time. Enjoy!
I think on the old Bendix carb there is an adjustable main jet. If you're going up in altitude to the mountains you need to open it up a little bit. It is right behind the mixture screw. That could be the problem with the fuel.

I suppose you found out the problem. If not, It's the gas filter. You only have to remove it. Very nice videos friend, thanks for them.

Thank you! Perhaps it was the percolation that made the gasoline boil. I removed the gasoline filter and that didn't help.

I told you that because I had the same problem and I solved it removing the gas filter. Very nice bike and videos, Thanks.

Estupendo video. Me encanta la electrónica escondida en el deposito de gasolina... Un placer ver tus videos, el paisaje espectacular. Saludos desde España.🍻
tank vent or vented gas cap as others have suggested. When tank is not vented, as fuel is used vacuum occurs in the tank. if not this then maybe but doubtful vapor lock. try insulating fuel hose more from engine heat.. also look in left tank for fuel, make sure fuel is transferring right tank to left tank.
I guess if you haven’t ridden an old Shovel you don’t get it… when I started doing a lot of long distance I switched to the 5 gallon “Fat Bob’s”. My mileage with the stock gearing was in the low to mid 20’s to a gallon (not sure what what they translate in liters / Kilometers} I dropped a tooth or two on my front sprocket which got me close to what my friends were turning on their modern HD’s with a 5 speed.. lost some low end grunt but my Mileage got closer to 30 miles to a gallon. I have the exact same filter and routing on my fuel line, never an issue. But I did have trouble with one bad cap and the other thing you may look is sometimes the crossover gets pinched or clogged. I’ve had my “68 for 30 years and its never left my stranded once.. Any problem I ever had I was able to fix on the road With simple tools… love your ride…

It's great that you've never been stuck!
@juststeve76652 жыл бұрын
you've got it backwards... dropping teeth on front sprocket raises rpm and adds "low end grunt" by lowering the gear ratio, adding teeth on front sprocket drops rpm, dropping teeth on rear sprocket lowers rpm also.
