Bainbridge to Lake Semerwater and back!

A summer's walk from Bainbridge to Lake Semerwater and back.
Approx, 6.6k (4.8 miles), 190m (617 ft), 2/3hrs.
Setting off in a clockwise direction, walk over the road bridge where you might see the turbine operating on the right.
Head up the hill out of the village towards the stile on the right hand side marked Semerwater - 2 1/4 miles
From here follow the very pleasant footpath through a number of fields to reach Semerwater!
At Semerwater, do take the time to admire the curlew stones and to sit on the raised seat on the north side of the road to admire the view that Turner once painted!
To return to Bainbridge, walk up the short steep hill towards the small hamlet of Countersett before turning right to Bainbridge. When you reach Gill Edge you can then rejoin the footpath back to the village.
The River Bain which flows from Lake Semerwater to the River Ure is one of the shortest rivers in the UK.
