I am addicted to Liam’s walks, there is something so soothing and grounded about them. Even though I don’t walk long distances, am unfit and old, I really want to try this sort of hiking and wild camping. In my head I have bought all the gear and I’ve planned a three day trip around a nearby lake at a time when there are no midges because I live in Ireland.

Bless you Joshua king. Keep on going. And the lake District is lovely and you really wander if you are in England with the mountains there n lakes etc. We stayed in Penrith one time and another time we camped on a farmer's field. Surrounded by mountains. And another time we stayed near Carmel. There is a famous racecourse there. We crossed it to do a hike what we were doing with our children. Near sawrey is my favourite place in the lakes. You can visit Beatrix potters home that she left to the national trust. It is a museum. It really is amazing. She bought farms and left them all to the national trust in her will. Cos she didn't want anyone building rubbish on the land and keeping it as it is. Beautiful land there in Cumbria

I did the St Bees to Shap stretch with my, then, girlfriend back in 2010. I proposed to her just up the hill from where you camped at Ennerdale, a little further up past the Black Sail YHA. It was a real highlight and through all the places I've travelled around the world, I know that this walk will always hold a spot in my 'reel of life' memories :) My daughter is nearly 11 and, whilst my partner probably isn't the shape to be able to do the walk again, I'm hoping I can get my daughter to do the walk with me. I walk her and hour to school and an hour home now and hoping to build that up, she's done a few of the challenging hill/mountain walks in the Peaks/Lakes, so I think she will be ready next summer!

A couple of tricks to keeping kids happy that might help. Give them the compass and a copy of the map. If they're leading the way, it will be exciting for them. Just double check every now and again. Give them their own 'responsibilities' in camp. Keeping the porch tidy and puffing up the sleeping bags are good ones. Nice big carrot for the end of the day. Hot chocolate and biscuits work well. Keep them dry and keep asking questions about the route. All these help keep my son in the moment and enjoying himself.

A great bit of filming Liam, thank you. We did the crossing in 2010, we had brilliant weather, wore shorts and T shirts all the way. We chose the soft Southern approach, we used B&B's and hotels to ensure a good night's sleep and to get a decent meal at the end of each day. I would like to do it all again as it was probably the best two weeks of my life, it was so enjoyable and memorable. At 73 though it is time to hang the boots up I feel.

Amazing you’ve done another long one like this! It makes for such a pleasant, entertaining and relaxing watch. I think as it’s just back to basics from the concept to the edit like the choice of no music/filler. Keep it up!

Hey Liam really enjoying the videos! Just wondering have you considered ever doing the hike to the UKs most remote pub,the old forge, in Scotland? I think it would make a great trip for you and it would be something I’d love to see!

Great video Liam! I walked the C2C 8 years ago and was struck by how authentically you captured the whole experience, from the moment you picked up the pebble at St. Bees right until the very end when you drop it in the North Sea at RHB. Great memories! Thank you.

a thousand thanks for this wonderful video. And no irritating background muzak which so ruins every other such video on TV the BBC being the worst offender. Just the natural sounds of sea, streams birds and wind and your interesting and informative low key commentary. A true pleasure to watch and listen to.

Really enjoyed watching this - great job capturing this and editing it. I'd very much like to do this route one day. The national parks of England (particularly northern England) are some of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. Even in the depths of winter with boggy ground, snow, ice, hail, rain and constant wind there is so much beauty and serenity to be found.

do it, this summer straight after your exams! don't worry about doing stuff like this on your own, it forces you to meet new people. also at your age the body is so efficient and the speed of recovery is so quick you can basically do anything and with zero preparation required. good luck!
