What type of chum do y’all use
@badfishtv38132 жыл бұрын
We use Bait Buffet chum and Purina tropical fish food. The Bait Buffet chum comes in 3lb bags and the Purina comes in 50lb bags.

Hey guys. I love the bait teaching aspect of your video. I'm trying to get a day or two to come over to the skyway and fish. This will be my first time there so this definitely helps me out where to catch the bait at. I know you said let it sink and sink some more but im always worried about snagging the bottom when I do that and not being able to get my net back. What kind of bottom is around that bridge? Thanks Ed
@badfishtv38133 жыл бұрын
The south skyway fishing pier has a relatively clean sandy bottom around the bridge make sure you look over the side and throw between the pilings and you should be fine, thanks for watching.

Hi Williams thanks for all you do 2 questions 1 do you always go to skyway for bait or do you do same thing at markers? 2. How do you keep your net from getting hung on bottom when letting it sink to bottom thanks again hope to see you soon would like to get out on some grouper fishing with you, do you guys do that inside Tampa bay?
@badfishtv38133 жыл бұрын
Yes we do the same thing at the markers always on the up current side but there is plenty of bait on the flats now too.We do occasionally lose a net on the markers which is why I carry three lol. Yes we do inshore grouper check out our Facebook post tonight @william wise got a 32 inch gag today while tarpon fishing, thanks for your support!

I’ve got an 8ft 3/8 mesh 1.25 lbs per ft. Should I go to a 10 foot net or is the 8 footer alright for the depth? I’m used to only casting in shallow water. Thanks guys, great video
@badfishtv38133 жыл бұрын
If you can throw a 10 comfortably I would definitely go with it but if that is a little much an 8 footer will get the job done too, thanks!

Hey Danny Guarino’s nephew George again. In this case by the bridge how do you know there isn’t anything to get the net stuck on down there? I hate losing a net. Do you just know the spot well ? Or do you go off the depth finder?
@badfishtv3813 Жыл бұрын
I go off the depth finder but the majority of stuff to get hung on around the bridge is out away from the bridge I’ve noticed when I stay close to it or even under it I don’t get hung often!

Great vid guys... I’m gonna be in Tampa Bay the week of June 5th. Insight is very much appreciated. I’m a bit of a cast net novice, so regularly throw a 6 ft net. Think that would get the job done? Thanks for any insight

Yes especially right now because the bait has moved shallow, we just put up a new bait video, check it out a 6 foot net will definitely get it done.

I usually get about 10 feet from the bridge and throw between the pilings and let the net sink under the bridge.

Finally! I’ve been trying to find this kind of vid for a while now and conveniently it’s where I fish too haha. I just have one question, would a 10 foot 1/4 inch mesh work?
@badfishtv38133 жыл бұрын
Yes it will as long as the current is not running to hard, if the current is running really hard you may have to go to a 3/8 mesh to get it to sink faster or add about 20 feet of rope to your rope to allow the 1/4 inch to sink and if you see me out there and need any help or have any questions feel free to holler at me, thanks.

Do you always let bait drift towards structure or do you net on lee side sometimes?
@badfishtv38132 жыл бұрын
On the side sometimes it just depends on where the bait is on the structure but definitely better to catch it on the side.

Add a subscribe. Is it better during a particular tide to cast?
@badfishtv38133 жыл бұрын
Thank you for subscribing and yes moving water is always better for catching bait because it disperses the chum further, it can be tough when theres no tide because the smell doesn’t travel as far.
