I built a BFS set up with the SJ8600 and the Kast king real. Fished from my boat using drop shot, Ned rig, and respooled with 15lb braid to 8lb flouro and pitched docks with it. Rod worked flawlessly but the jury is out on the Kast King real. I will see how the next round goes.

I built a few BFS rods on the Phenix mirage and elixir blanks and they are so much fun. If I didn’t have the opportunity to catch a DD on any cast, I’d fish BFS all the time.

How do the crb rods compare to the mhx rods?

The CRB blanks differ from the MHX blanks due to the materials used. CRB blanks uses materials that deliver the power and action needed, but at a lower price point. MHX blanks go further in the powers and actions they can offer due to the materials having a higher modulus count and in certain cases blending of different material types, all while also lowering the weight of the blanks.

Seems like bait finesse is overrated BFS will never compete with a finesse spinning reel and rod. Its also a lot cheaper…….

My bfs has caught bigger fish than my spinning finesse system. And was about $15 cheaper! So "never compete" seems like a dumb thing to say.
