Gday everyone and welcome back. It has been highly requested that i make another bait vs lure fishing challenge. so i did. I decided to put up the ProLure clone prawns, and the tweed bait servo prawns, in a head too head battle too see what could catch more fish. The final results and outcome of the video are worth sticking around to the end for!!

Josh, I love your channel. You are already a far more perceptive angler than I ever was. You may already know this, but when I use servo prawns, I always peel them to stop fish from tearing the head/tails off. My grandma taught me that...tight lines, mate.

Terrific video and catches Josh!! That big flattie was a beauty. I think the lures performed so well due to your expertise in using them plus how realistic they looked! It helped that you were in constant contact with the rod when using the lure and could feel the touches and time the strike too. The bait got plenty of interest, but reduced hookups due to not holding on to the rod IMO and setting the hook. Impossible to compare both at the same time really unless you were fishing with someone else with equal skills at the same location etc. It still made for a great video and your enthusiasm, skills and editing are all top shelf! All the best for Christmas mate, stay safe and well!

Thankyou for the excellent content mate! Circles are a great hook when you are after the legal fish, I use them on live nippers to avoid gut hooking the junior specimens when the pickers are around....you miss some fish but that's the idea. Any greedy little ones are majority jaw hooked for a good release. It is hard to change striking behaviour to passive pressure but that is the key. Again cheers for the vids. 👍👌

Just a tip for circle hooks is that the fish don’t hook themselves but when you get a bite you just reel and that hooks them and if you set the hook you can pop the hook right out of there mouths

You are a great ambassador for our sport mate, you conduct yourself well and will do well in life. As for the circle hook they do work well, you ideally need a rod holder and have a set drag. Try some chicken or mullet strips next time with them they go good.

Great video. Good circle hooks. Invest in a rod holder. With dirty water bait has a big advantage. With the lures you need to be moving them, that sauce is good. Rather than loosening your drag. Consider a baitrunner for bait fishing

Nice flattie...Bit unfair on the bait though...using a Mustad long bait holder and threading the prawn along it to make it more realistic and holding the rod so you can set the hook...would have caught more...just as your always in touch with a lure...my best fish a 80cm flattie was caught on bait using the above method...again a great video to watch...cheers.

Insane hooks on the bait. I usually go size 5-8 when using prawns. Or most baits. Smaller hooks usually work better I’ve found

Josh I love your channel, just a tip with the bait prawns, try peeling them. It gets your hand stinky and it takes a bit but the reward is soooo much better.

Hey josh a tip when your using prawns. You can take the tail off the prawn and peel the tail and hook it from the tail end through to the other end. FYI: you don’t have to do this. Just a tip

Very interesting video ! Loved the tone and the catches, but please don't be one of those guys who don't mind the fish they kill. If you kill a fish (it happens to the best of us all !) don't throw it away, keep it and use it. Ans most of all keep fishing and doing cool videos ;)

Nice vid Josh good job. The only time I use mono is surface lure fishing. Fluro carbon line sinks so it pulls down on the front of the surface lure, this doesnt happen with mono.
