I am 73 years old. I started learning fishing last year and quickly fell in love with this life. I go fishing at least three times a week. Although I catch very few fish, I still insist on learning to fish. I have watched many of your wonderful KZbin videos, very good! Subscribed to your channel. Thank you for passing on your fishing experience to us. Thanks!

What a great change up to your fishing this week with fishing around the harbour. Totally enjoyed this one and looking forward to your next. Josh, I believe that little “cod” you caught is what us Victorians call “cobblers” they are in the fortescue family and those spines cause excruciating pain…..and I am speaking from experience.

Hey Josh, another great vid, just my experience with wind knots. Especially with braid, don’t pull more line off the spool, try and seperate the knot by teasing, might take 5 minutes or so with some patience. Even tight knots will come undone, once you have the knot and the loop separated, then pull the line off keeping the loop and the line seperate if that makes sense. I have managed to untangle some really gnarly knots doin* this. Hope this helps, keep up the great work. Cheers

One thing, Have you considered starting a patreon? You could end up with a nice little gear budget every month, even if only a tiny percentage of subscribers join. You could hold votes on gear reviews, challenge suggestions and so on. Side note, I spent my childhood fishing exactly where you were in this video. Mad nostalgia.

Good stuff. Just a tip: Take some rings out of that spool, to prevent the windknots, you want your braid to be spooled wider on the top than the bothem of the spool. Especially fishing weightless and topwaters, where there is low tension on the line.

Have a crack for a big flatty or burrill lake bridge (I know they have a new bridge there now, but from the jetty to the side) I caught a 1.4 meter flathead there years ago. Also, try drummer fishing of dolphin point. Love that spot. A lot of bream/whiting/snapper, another spot is the tubes, caught big Jew of that spot.
