I took a baitcaster to Lake Powell one summer to fish for stripers without practicing and spent the whole weekend untangling birdnests, I swore off of them forever haha.

You gotta practice in ur yard takes about a week for most people to get decent enough to actually fish with it. A weekend isn’t long enough

@@0x45Swims it took me a day of failure and then the next day i got it on the lake

I picked up a lightweight bait caster this summer it was pretty fun. I do like my spinner though. Got this mostly for bass.

I just recently moved to an area with no bass and loads of trout. I’m trying to figure out how to setup my spinner and bait caster for trout and recommendations? Ps. I’m from an area where it’s all bass and sun fish no trout

@@inteljumperxx my go to lures are kast master spoons in all gold or all silver then silver with blue or gold with red. Panther Martin spinners are really great too. I like kast masters because you can really launch them out into the lake. but they are heavy so be careful you will lose a few on snags more than likely haha. the panther martins are easy to keep up on the surface but wont cast as far. Also the good ol yakima baits rooster tail is great too. If all else fails throw a worm and weight on or some power bait dough. good luck out there!

Thank you for the informative video. When you are casting spinners do you vary your retrieve much with pauses or different speeds?

My folks bought me a one piece fiberglass rod and a level wind bait casting reel with 15 lb. Mono when I was 7, in spite of that I learned to like fishing 😂 ! When I see someone using a baitcaster now, decades later,I wonder WHY would you do that to yourself. 🤔🤣

dude it's so fun when you actually take your time and figure it out, people rush too much and that's why people get tons of bird nests

It's not for everyone that's for sure . But once you got it dialed in it's badass 🤘🏼 caught over 10 this weekend at rainbow lake

I literally started fishing last month with my new baitcaster combo and I haven’t bird nested since my first fishing trip. Only took a few hours of practice and now I am confident with the baitcaster even caught my first large mouth bass on my second trip to the pond. Weak ass mentality.

@@NateishungryI literally started fishing last month and my first rod and reel is a baitcaster and I fucking love it only took a few hours of practice to get it down now I don’t even birds nest anymore only happened a few times on my first trip to the pond. It’s so badass. Dudes like these are straight up babies. I taught myself how to ride a motorcycle on a 600cc engine with no brakes, you can do anything you put your mind to fr.

Good tips for using a bait caster reel. I might have to give one a try. Have you ever caught the same fish multiple times? Just curious. Merry Christmas.

There was a trout on a sw WA stream I caught three years in a row in the same place. Had a distinct fin deformity so it was always recognizable and always hiding out under the same log.

@@spiltmilt I do appreciate that info in your description. My question however, was directed to @xnorcal831x who seemed to be referencing something other than the Daiwa rod you were featuring. Thank you for the great videos and interacting with viewers!

I don't know how you can tell the difference between fish genders. Maybe you could do a video about that?

How can you tell if the fish is a buck or a hen?

By color. Females are paler and males are richer in reds and greens
