Baizhu's Hidden Secret (Genshin Impact Theory)

So I created this video back in late July early August but I decided to upload it a little later so this is before 2.1. I am also aware of the new info found about the current Dendro Archon being female. Before 2.1, was still male, so that's one correction that I would like to point out. Other than that, this was more of a fun kind of imaginative video and speculation I just found fun to be created. So I hope you enjoy this interesting take!

My theory is that since he’s so smart on medicine, I’m guessing he once studied in Sumeru as well and the ailment he got is similar to the one that Lisa has that ‘shortens’ her lifespan. Maybe he and Lisa are going to be central characters to us being introduced to Sumeru, kinda like how Kazuha and Beidou did so in Inazuma.

I suspect that the reason for Baizhu's incurable illness and his body getting weak is because an archons strength is based off how many people are worshiping them that's why venti is says he's the weakest for this very reason, but since Baizhu hasn't been worshiped for 500 years he's lost most of his power and cause him to have an unusable illness.

I don't see why the doctor gets so much hate over qiqi. He literally gave her a purpose , not to mention a notebook to help her with her day to day activities. Yeah Like, Baizhu wants to find a way to be inmortal, thats why he took Qiqi in, but that doesnt mean he treated her wrongly or is mean to her, he just gave her a job close to him so he could study her a bit and Maybe know the reason She is inmortal as well, but it has never been told he is a bad person or treats her badly I would love to see that he actually came to care for her a bit, maybe not a father daughter relationship but Maybe just like, that weird uncle who speaks weird but is very friendly lmao

So there was a theory i read last week about the sumeru (dendro) archon being a fake. Here's the important part that was said in the post: "dainslief once said about sumeru “The oasis of knowledge is a mirage in the desert of ignorance, there is a push for folly but the god of wisdom makes no argument against it”. Sumeru is based off of middle east and what happened in the middle east? Prophet mohammed saw that others were worshipping statues blindly without really thinking about it. So this is what I’m thinking. That the dendro archon-Kusanali isn’t actually the archon and people are just ignorantly worshipping her, while the actual archon is getting nothing." Ok so combining this theory with yours, it makes sense that Baizhu is the original archon and cause of his sickness he faked his death as an archon and chose someone else to rule over sumeru cause of his bad condition. The other person being Kusanali, a female archon and thats why people refer to the archon as a she. One more theory is that the moveset and behaviour of slimes repressent the archon in some way, now the dendro slimes likes to hide under the ground and that is kinda what Baizhu is doing, he's hiding. So youre theory could be correct and baizhu could very well be the real archon.

Also, of note is how he is actually not a very nice or sincere person. In order to “deactivate” qiqi when she gets stuck in a “logic loop” you have to hug her from behind and whisper “I love you qiqi”. However, it notes that when Dr. Baizhu does it, it doesn’t always fully work because you have to actually mean it and be sincere. The idea is that while he acts as qiqi’s guardian he is only doing so to study her and see if her undying body can give him clues on finding immortality

@horizon Azhdaha's dragon body was forged by Zhongli so he's like a son to him. although, Zhongli had a lot of companions compared to Ei and Venti. Venti's original companions (the human Venti, Amos, the red haired knight, etc) didn't become special beings, and Ei lost all of her original companions

This is actually a really good theory!! Dendro is already my favorite element and has been since the start of the game (I like plants), and I’ve been super interested in Baizhu ever since he appeared for the first time in a quest. His design and personality are both very unique, and I can’t wait to see more of him in the story. I’m assuming there’s a lore reason for the lack of Dendro characters, because the more they wait to release them, the harder it will be to integrate them into the game. But then again, there were Dendro visions on the statue in Inazuma, so maybe that’s not the reason there are no playable Dendro characters yet. I think it’s also interesting that YaoYao is a herb collector (I believe, much like Qiqi is), so maybe she works for Baizhu. Being that she’s the only other known Dendro character at the moment, what if Baizhu gave her that vision due to their connection? He also seems to wear clothes that look middle-eastern based, and Sumeru is based off of the Sumarían civilization. Even though his vision doesn’t appear to be from Sumeru, it would be fake anyways because archons don’t have visions. Regardless I am really exited to find out more information about him, and I hope it happens soon. As long is he isn’t in love with the snake. I know he’s based off of a person who was in love with a snake. But he just better not be in love with the snake. It’s weird.

WAIT IVE BEEN THINKING THIS TOO. I’ve heard theories that maybe he’s the long lost adeptus that didn’t die, or he’s the dendro archon, but what really backs this up is the fact that Zhongli was surprised to know that Baizhu was running the Bubu pharmacy. What’s more, I feel like Zhongli gets the medicine for Xiao from Baizhu, which would make sense because he’s one of if not the best pharmacist. But it’s also confusing because if he is making the medicine for Xiao, wouldn’t that mean that his knowledge far exceeds one of a mortal? Idk but this medicine thing isn’t confirmed so don’t take this seriously 😅.

I've also thought of this too! At the time, I thought maybe he was the current dendro archon since people were saying he was not worshipped by Sumeru people and instead people were worshipping Lesser Lord Kusanali, and thinking about the theory that slimes could be designed based on their archons (electro slimes having two designs, geo slimes having a shield etc), I thought Baizhu could be the dendro archon in disguise since the dendro slime is always hiding in the ground. He even has the long braid! But since Kusanali has been officially confirmed as the dendro archon I think your theory is the closest to being correct and I hope he gets to be a playable character!

Zhongli knew every single soul in Liyue BUT he DO NOT KNOW BAIZHU, a well-known doctor all over Teyvat. Zhongli asked him "who might you be?" during the Guizhong arc and that is extremely suspicious. I also watched another channel wherein they pointed out the VV set hinting that Kusanali is "uncrowned". If she is "uncrowned" then it means she doesn't have Gnosis. If she doesn't have Gnosis then where the heck is the dendro archon's gnosis? I doubt that Tsaritsa has it. She after all was sending out her Harbingers to get those gnosis from archons even if by force. If the current dendro archon doesn't have gnosis then it only means one thing, THE DENDRO ARCHON BEFORE HER IS STILL ALIVE AND HE STILL HAVE THE GNOSIS. Slimes are also good representations of the archons of their element. The 'leader' of the dendro slimes is always hiding and letting the lesser dendro slimes to do its shit. That could be applied with the dendro archon, who is still hiding somewhere.

I think Changsheng is past dendro archon. I know it sounds weird. But in lore is said the God od woods met the blind and dying guy. Baizhu is not in the good shape and searching immortality for him. He also has the snake eyes. And Changsheng has a human eyes. It's possible she has his eyes and she is snake because snakes usually don't use their eyes like humans. They have thermovision. So Baizhu could be dying and blind boy who met the God of Woods. God of woods saved him they exchanged each other's eyes and God became Changsheng. It is just my theory.

I thought the exact same thing in the beginning but then I found out that the Dendro Archon was female. This video helps clear some things up. One thing I have to point out though, do you notice Baizhu's vision? It's from Liyue not Sumeru (some characters who are not originally from Liyue or somewhere else may have vision designs from the region they are currently living in?...idk) but don't you think that if he is the former Dendro Archon that he would have a vision design from Sumeru? Just being recommended this video six months later and after exploring and completing the main storyline of the Chasm is all the more compelling. Couple this with a different theory video I just watched which connects the Dendro symbol not with foliage but the hood of a cobra, a snake, and I think we have a really solid theory. Baizhu is very important, probably in himself but definitely with Chengsheng as his companion. An educated speculation to start with, but something that comes together the more we find out; That is how a hypothesis becomes an established and accepted theory, scientifically speaking.

That is about the same way I thought, but my theory goes even further. On my belief, Baizhu is a Celestial, meaning that he is a God similar to the unknown goddess. ( his eyes for example, they have about the same colorings as her's) His physical appearance and state is caused by a curse she laid on him. It's a venom that allows him to heal others, but weaking him in the process. As for the snake, I think she's a Celestial beast, similar to the ones that we see in the Raiden Shogun trailer.

There is another peculiar thing that might be related to Baizhu. In several in-game books I've read I noticed a particular fox-eyed lady with golden irises appearing several times. Her most noticeable and interesting role would be the owner of the mysterious antique shop that holds mementos of all archons and many more unfathomable relics. I keep on wondering, is that lady related to Baizhu in any way cos "fox-eyes with golden irises" is exactly how I would describe Baizhus eyes.

Baizhu also has a faint connection to the greek god Apollo. Apollo was no only the sun god but also the god of healing and medicine (Baizhu is a herbalist). Apollo also carried around a serpent-entwined staff (Baizhu carries a snake around) and killed the great Python. He could also be the god the serpent staff is named after - the hero and god Asclepius who represents the healing aspect of the medical arts. Is that just a coincidence? Maybe he is not the dendro archon but maybe he is something like an adeptus or a former archon

I’m pretty sure he’s referring to the theory that the cryo archon was in love with the first dendro archon and he died during the cataclysm (destruction of Khanreah) a battle ordered by celestial so now she is gathering the gnosis to do something against celestia but I don’t remeber the theory too well

Honestly baizhu sort of reminds me a little of shennong. Shennong is sort of believed to be the father of Chinese medicine, and I think he does end up becoming immortal(not sure though). Plus I think the warriors orochi version of shennong reminds me of baizhu as well

In Inazuma you know, that snake skull, Orobaxi, that was also a white snake god. In moonchase event we learn that gods can't be completely destroyed. And a god shrinked in size. Maybe changsheng is a descendant of Orobaxi. My theory makes no sense.

We don't really know, the only confirmed thing we know it to do is that it "directly resonates with Celestia" whatever that may mean and in some way helps the archons protect their nations. The topic of a gnosis is very interesting considering how little we know about them, I think it'd be something you'd find intriguing as well
