Baja Designs Squadron Sport vs "other brand" LED torture test

This is a Pirate4x4.com member's request for a torture test of Baja Design's new Squadron Sport LED light vs another brand. It consisted of me running the brand new out of the box lights for an hour while in a box and then submerged in ice water till cool and check for any moisture caused by the temp change/vacuum. Wow I was sold on the other brand .. because I have those lights I have pressure washed them ran them problem free in -30 degrees and 100 degrees but they are on the front of a vehicle and probably never got that hot to suck in water like that ... wow

Jeez. Yeah, i guess that decides it for all the guys that ride in Phoenix in July and jump their bikes into pools of ice water. For the rest of us the other light is fine. Ive used the$10 Yitamotor ebay LED bars for years and theyre bright as hell and never let me down. And if they ever do theyre TEN FRICKIN DOLLARS

LOL Don't even try to compare your turdass, chicom, mismatched driver, no focal point, spill everywhere, bottom rung cree, ghetto sealed light bar that they also sell at tractor supply (same maker) to ANYTHING, much less a Baja Design, of any quality, just because it's "bright as hell". It's not even a good Chinese light bar ! I mean shit, if you would have said Aurora or anything that actually uses an optic or a real reflector then maybe you might have a leg to stand on. I wouldn't even be offended, but you whip out that turd and try it? Come on, that thing is barely lawn tractor worthy. Stop being cheap, research what you are buying and thanks for watching.

Bullshit dude. Spit out the hook line and sinker Baja Designs and Rigid’s marketing teams have down your throat. Chinese bars are hit and miss, but once you find the good ones theyre an unbeatable value. I have Yitamotor bars on all my vehicles, and when i say theyre “bright as hell”, i mean i go ride with guys that spent $300 on BD bars and mine are right with them. Do the math. $15 vs $300. Are your Baja Designs buttbuddies’ lights 20 times better than the ones I use? No. Frickin. Way. 20 times brighter? 20 times better beam pattern? Last 20 times longer? Bullshit. They’re not even 2 times better. I ride hard in Washington in brutal rain, slush, ice, mud, cow shit...i had ONE light have a couple of LEDs flicker ONE time, and i emailed Yitamotor and they immediately sent me another one no questions asked. Otherwise rock solid, always. Dont be an idiot. Think a bit before you buy into the hype...20 times better? Nope

Youre one of those guys that pays Les Schwab $900 to do a “complete” brake job on your car when it just needs $50 pads too, arent you? And you also get 4 brand new tires while youre at it, when the old ones have years of life left, because Schwab says they look worn. Safety first, you big gullible pussy. Dude, dollar for dollar, lumen for lumen, well sourced chinese bars cant be beat. Period. If youre in the Baja 1000 or something where everything’s on the line, and you need the absolute best available, that’s different, thats when you spend 20x the money for that incremental difference. Rest of the time, these lights are unbeatable. BD is 20x better? Shut the fuck up. @@usmcdoc14 I know there's a correlation between Vision X, Denali, and Cyclops....Haven't quite figured it out yet, but it's frustrating. BD is on my list - I'm looking for motorcycle lights that are good quality and excellent light output but won't break the bank. Seems to me from the couple weeks I've spent looking BD fits the bill for the first two qualities I'm looking for, but they're quite expensive for the light output you get trying to compare to other brands listed above. Quite a mind bend honestly. Thanks for showing the quality of the 'Other brand' - Never liked the clunky design anyways....

While (most) people may not be running their trucks into lakes, this test does a great job at simulating a very common situation many lights endure such as sitting out in the cold rain, then getting in your truck starting it up, turning them on, and being rapidly heated up by the light itself and the heat from the light being mounted in a confined space close to the engine all while being driven in freezing temperatures with road sludge and ice being thrown at the lights. Maybe that’s something you can try to wrap your head around 👍🏼
