When ktm had only the 373 duke which had like 44hp but they detuned the engine to make only 39.8 hp on the dominar. Cause without the detune it would be an unfare advantage for bajaj. But now since ktm has the 399 cc. Why didn't they use the concordant 373cc engine. Don't get me wrong the ns 400 is a really good bike. But, if i had to describe the ns400z in one statement it would be, 'LAZY ENGINEERING '. . They didn't put much effort into the engine design frame or even the instrument console. Look at the frame, they just said , if the ns 200 frame cant handle the 400 engine. Lets just make the frame thicker. Major cost cutting has been done on the R&D department. Thats why they could launch this at 185000rs.

The main focus was the cost ... They got it done ...hope Bajaj makes rs 400 with older duke engine and longer tooth sprocket setup and a refreshing design...under 2.7 onroad.. Sells like hot cakes
