Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 : First Impressions : PowerDrift

Price point of pulsar 200rs : Legendary Single channel ABS : ok , at the price point. Vibrations : I drove the pulsar 200 RS compared to NS negligible & KTM Duke 200 at higher RPMs above 6000 a tiny sensations Fairings add more vibrations. LED Tail lamp : Depends upon your personal preferences , I personally liked it. Handling : Crisp handling & in traffics it is easily maneuverable. Exhaust note : Mean grunty. Fairing : Could have avoid the white stripes on the bike. There are many panel gaps & inconsistent fairings across many bikes i examined at the showroom & service center. Color : Would love to see Full Black color. Yellow Color just Pops. Riding posture : Perfect for Indian roads & touring. Height 5.11 + comfortable. Rear view mirrors: Small but still replaceable & couldn't fold it all the way down. ABS : Would love to have an "On" & "Off" option. Brakes: Nice braking force which resembles to duke 200 in braking power of 70%. Design : I liked it , personal preference & I dig the Twin Projector headlamps & makes it looks like a human or i say an Autobot. The bike response was good as 75-85% as ktm duke 200. Regardless of its advantages & small disadvantages, I'm buying this bike. Edit : I bought this bike ABS variant. I do feel vibrations on the bike when riding below RPM 3000 & above 7000. Overall the bike is nice . The Third Gear is little bit tricky as it gets jammed. My pillion seat used to not lock up properly so they replaced the lock.Many inconsistent panel gaps over all the fairings. Still the bike is value for money & you wont regret it. Edit 2 : Two months experience. My bike had some Gear Shifting issues which made the gears stuck below speed levels of 30 KMPL. Shifting was not possible for about 60% of time , so after mentioning this problem with the "Suryoday Bajaj" Service center they acknowledged the problem & fixed the problem, but it took them 20 days to fix the problem. Now the problem doesn't persist. My bike is running perfectly well aside from some vibrations which every Indian Manufactured bike has built in feature :P . This problem may be present in your bike so do a Thorough Testing.

First of all perhaps the most engaging review of this Pulsar 200 Rs.Very focused.Bajaj has understood the requirements of aam Indian Admi to own a affordable sports bike & to satisfy thy racing aspirational values .Also justify the budding racers who can learn & later upgrade to Higher capacity Motorcycles. Well done PD once again to extract better visual s from Bajaj chakan track.Well waiting for comparo between CBR 150 & also with CBR 250.Many questions are going to creep . Great work keep it up.

I have completed 6k on the ODO with this machine and i must say that this one is meant for cruising. A perfect piece of sports tourer from Bajaj. Great agility and sticky MRFs just makes you crave the corners. But on the other side, i still feel that the acceleration is on the linear side and you just cant pump it up from the 4+ gears as we can on the KTMs(and NS too :P) Overall, i just love my bike and I personally don't mind those extra kilos in exchange for high stability and comfort. PS : BangOn review... well done PD \m/

Guys for the last 2 weeks I was waiting for the first ride impression from PowerDrift glad that its here now because you make the best video and the review is also awsome. Regarding Pulsar RS200 I was lucky to test ride it in Kolkata and this machine is better than previous Pulsar's but still there is a long way to go for Bajaj. I liked the seating position which is not aggressive like R15 or the RC and the option to go for ABS is also a deal breaker which in this price range no one else is providing. MRF tyres are really sticky and has got a good handling power delivery is a bit low due to its heavy weight but after 3000 RPM its really fast thanks to the Fuel Injection. I had a debate on a social networking platform regarding the aerodynamics of this bike. Being a mechanical engineer myself it annoyed the hell out of me that Bajaj chose to put on that ungodly mass on the front of that bike and call it sporty. This attracted a Bajaj engineer on my post and soon me and him had a long discussion on what went behind that ungodly decision of throwing a heavy piece of plastic up front. He even tagged his co-workers(read engineers) from his workplace. They even told me Bajaj has an inhouse aerodynamics testing wind tunnel. THen it perplexed me even more as to how a manufacturer with so much resources ended up doing such a shoddy job on the fairings which look far from being aerodynamic and look more like deadweight upfront.

BASIN SAINUDHEEN The RS200 definitely has a more sporty feel owing to its full fairing as compared to the naked Duke 200. We can't really on which bike is better if not the best since we haven't tested both the bikes side by side.
