On top of everything else, I know you've been singing the praises of the GX850 for a while, but... 0:25 ...I never realised how much smaller than the GX85 it is. 😯 Suddenly I think it might scratch that GM1/GM5 itch I've had, without breaking the bank...

It really is small, maybe almost as small as GM1 😁

I really like the video quality here. I find it better than the Osmo 3. BTW - I love the format of this video. Very insightful and informative. Thanks Gary!

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, I'm liking the Action 4 more than the Pocket 3 for this video format. I'm switching completely to Action 4 for outdoor vlogs, and use the Pocket 3 for talking head videos instead.

I find it really hard, for me, to compose super wide angle (like 8mm) and telephoto (like 75mm of higher) in the same photo shoot. I end up capturing my best images if I stay in the 12-40mm range (MFT).

Both ultra wide and telephoto are quite difficult. My tip for ultra wide is to include a nice foreground to help frame the photo. With telephoto, you'll have to concentrate only on the most important part of the scenery most of the time. 12-40mm definitely is the sweet spot for composition 👍

Action Cam looks just fine. As for the photos, the shots look good but do you ever play a little bit with the color science? I feel like browsing the Literoom color packs would be fun with those shots. Does the gx850 have the exact same sensor as the gx85? I know it doesn’t have the stabilizer but those two camera are very cool to see side by side.

Thanks for the suggestion of using Lightroom color packs, I think that is a good idea. Yes GX850 does have the same sensor with GX85. IQ is pretty much identical.

It's a lovely camera, but Panasonic hasn't renewed the GX camera line for a while.

I have had this camera for 6 years. Everything would be fine if not for its faulty stabilization. When I film with a tripod and with a 12-32mm kit lens, the sensor moves by itself. And it doesn't matter if the stabilization is on or off. Have you noticed something like this in your camera?
@Gary_W
@Gary_W 2 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that. My GX85 does not have that issue, but I never really film with tripod. Have you tried turning off e-stabilizer on the GX85?
@BliskoNatury1
@BliskoNatury1 2 ай бұрын
@@Gary_W Yes, I turned off the stabilization as I film on a tripod. Sometimes disconnecting the lens and reconnecting it helped. I think it's time to think about a different system. Panasonic will probably not produce a successor to the gx80 anymore

@@Gary_W I posted an excerpt from the video on my channel to show what it looks like. Maybe the lens is to blame?

@BliskoNatury1 just checked your video, that looks weird, almost like the whole camera unit is shaking, or even the tripod. I think you should do more testing: try with other lens, try with stabilizer on, try with stabilizer off, try with EIS on, try with EIS off, in different environments. This is the first time I saw anything like this.

@@Gary_W With the 25mm 1.7 lens such a thing does not occur, and I do not have another. I once contacted another user who has the same camera and to him the same thing was happening. I will run some more tests.

A suggestion: edit out the cell towers. In my opinion, they don't help the beauty of your photos.

Opinion . The internet is full of people with opinions. Don’t forget when you tie your shoe laces make sure the bows are both the same size . 🤷‍♂️ no one cares about little things . Photography doesn’t always have to be perfect it can show the real world not a false world . That’s my opinion 😂

Thank you for your honesty. I'm also not happy with the pictures, but the point of this video is to show my photography practice. I visited this location again a few weeks ago and took better pictures (I hope) and I will share them in a future vlog.
