The BEST ALL PURPOSE PRIME Lens - Panasonic Leica 15mm f1.7 - Travel, Portrait, Street

My 1st prime ever! I love shooting people with view so this lens is perfect. I can even selfie me and my wife with blurry background view which 17mm or 20mm will be too tight. I also can do some astro shots like my last year's trip to Iceland where I can shoot aurora with this tiny beast.

Hello Khurram, thank you for the comment. Yes, the 15 1.7 is quite versatile, for street and fashion photography it is certainly more than capable, but make sure you are okay with the focal length.

Which do you prefer? PL15 f1.7 or P20 f1.7 if you are to choose a versatile, everyday prime lens? 😊

To be honest with you, I much prefer the PL15 for everyday prime lens, however the 20mm is able to produce a slightly stronger subject and slightly more background blur provided that you are okay with a slightly tighter focal length.

Does your Panasonic 15mm have a little bit of focus breathing and autofocus noise? I just picked this up and Al far my loudest lens. Even the 12-60 kit is silent.

Not at all, the 15mm is very silent and there's no noticeable focus breathing in my experience. I think you should get your 15mm checked, it doesn't sound normal.

For the gh5 specifically, would you choose this one or sigma 16mm

I still prefer this guy especially for travel simply because of its small size. The Sigma 16mm could be beneficial if you need that extra stop of light and ability to blur the background slightly more.

Mas kalo dibanding 20mm 1.7 II gmn ?untuk harga lumayan lebih murah dibanding 17mm. Untuk video all around cukup kah 20mm ?

Saya pakai 20mm 1.7 kak, kalau menurut saya tinggal lebih suka yang agak wide, atau suka yang agak tight aja kak, kalau dari segi ketajaman gambar dan kualitas gambar, 20mm 1.7 dan 15mm 1.7 ga terlalu banyak beda soalnya kak. Untuk video 20mm menurut saya masih termasuk fleksibel kak, hanya aja lensa 20mm autofocusnya agak keras suaranya, suka masuk dalam audio rekaman videonya kak. Gak keras sekali sih, tapi cukup kedengaran kak. Semoga membantu :)

@@luckiprasetia4571 sama sama kak. Kalau wedding terus terang saya masih lebih ke 16 1.4 aja mas, lebih aman walau hanya 1 stop bedanya dari f/1.7 atau f/1.8. Semoga membantu kak :)

Halo kak, aku cocok pakai lensa ini, wah kalau dipasang ke GX9 pasti mantab deh kak hehehe. Kalau landscape, ini juga oke kak. Buat landscape sebetulnya enak yang lebih wide, tapi ini juga mantab kak, hasilnya tajam hehehe
