I predicted that Trump would perform reasonably well for 20 to 30 minutes - and then go off the rails. I think I nailed that one. Joe had a cold. The hoarse voice, the breathing, the scrambling for numerical data all are things I experienced as an industrial engineer trying to work through similar issues. Also, when challenged, my gut reactions were and are stronger. Don't be fooled, at least not yet. I watched the first debate between Mondale and Reagan, and Mondale wasn't a tenth as awful to Reagan. Mondale won that one - on facts. Trump had better hope he didn't just poke the bear. The amount of BS he firehosed after 9:30 has handed the Lincoln Project about 50 videos worth of stuff they can flip on him. That Manchurian Candidate nonsense is pure projection. He might have won this battle on perception, but it might well cost him the war. Or, in 3 weeks, he might be bound over pending appeal, serving a 17-month prison sentence that might be the only thing in his miserable life that he's fully earned.
