I can only mirror what others are saying about destroying the environment. I really enjoyed the walk through the woods and hearing the birds sing. You can't beat it. Thank you.

My friend planted a tree at the beginning of this trail for her sister who passed away. Unfortunately a low life unearthed it and destroyed it,incredibly sad. Needs to be monitored.

I literally live 2 miles down the mountain and own the whole other side of the bear rocks in the other parking lot where it meets state game lands

Rusted n busted Mopars bear rocks is near here? Is this a hiking area
@rustednbustedmopars60875 жыл бұрын
marie kr yes the bear rocks is the other parking lot next to the one for the bake oven knob. The trail actually runs at the whole top half of my property which goes about half way up the mountain and then it’s state game lands on the other half going up but the trail is the divider between us and I get a lot of unwanted people coming down on my land destroying stuff. Years ago my dad built a bathroom and a camp site for hikers up there and kids destroyed it. The trails especially the bake oven knob are too easy to access which brings in more obnoxious people that don’t care

I have a feeling that foundation was from a fire tower and that was probably a very hot area where the sun beat down all day and the men who manned the fire tower probably called it the Bake Oven. Just a thought because that is how most of our names for places come about.

Beautiful view WW and Thanks for your video. Those who paint and trash up so beautiful a spot, disrespect themselves, others and Mother Earth. When people are brainwashed they lose touch with their Spirit. As Chief Seattle, I believe it was stated, "Whatever you do to the Earth you do to yourself". And you do to others as well. I do believe people are waking up and beginning to see what has been happening for centuries. To do this to a beautiful place is sorry to say the least. Thanks Again WW for your videos, your awareness of all other living things along the paths and being respectful of out Mother Earth and others! DaveyJO

Used to hike and camp at The Knob frequently in the '70s. It's disappointing how much graffiti there is now. There was none back in the day.

If you read Bryson's book a walk in the woods there was a murder on the AT. If I remember correctly, the couple were two women. A gay couple according to the book. Not sure if that came up in the movie. I have seen the movie.

I dont mind graffiti, if its tasteful & artistic. The litter issue is just Lazy-Slob-Aholes.
@bdickinson67515 жыл бұрын
What is done there is neither tasteful or artistic! I used to go there years ago when it was not trashed and enjoyed the area. Last time I was there, it looked like this and I've never returned. This is inexcusable!

I often hear that the AT in Pennsylvania is the rockiest section of the trail. Having hiked in Maine and New Hampshire, I rather doubt that claim. Still, it seems to be at least as rocky as parts of the AT in Virginia. Too bad so many scumbags go to the overlook and screw it up. Maybe it would help if some of those dirtbags were kicked in the ass.

Such a shame. It just takes one moron to tag the place, then every jerk with a can of spray paint has to follow. I've seen so many beautiful places that have been painted on for decades. Such a nice view too. Just kinda funny how it is such a popular place. Usually when there is an obstacle, like that river of jagged rocks, it's a barrier for unsavory types.
