In each region of the united states we see different cooking methods, recipes and ingredients, this allows the same food to be completely different one place from another.
Such as New York Pizza vs a California Style Pizza, so here I am doing things with Texas Flavors and Texas Style.
I like to use only fresh ingredients, no canned, boxed foods or seasoning packets.
Cooking should be fun and relaxing and that is what I strive for on Texas Cooking Today.

Thank You! This is a Good Recipe. You can also add "Progresso Ready Flavored Italian Breadcrumbs" Instead of or in Addition to the Parmesan Cheese for a Crusty Top to the Fennel...

Nice SIMPLE recipe! thank you. But would have been nicer to have the time shortened to less than 5 minutes.

Texas Cooking Today I saw Fennels diferent, this one is like onion, what I seen is like potato or beet ; that Cain of texture

damn. what is it with you chefs and fennel! jamie oliver puts it in everywhere, he makes his kids eat fennel seeds (and obviously theyre a treat and are a great bubblegum substitute!) and what not. last time i ate fennel it was in my childhood and i did NOT like that one. you make me wanna give it a new try, stuart....

On average I will purchase fennel (or as it is marketed here anise) about 4 to 6 times a year when cooked properly it has a sweet slightly licorice like flavor. I must admit I do not like licorice at all but this is not exactly like that and no where nearly as strong as licorice. It should be fork tender and easy to eat, cook it covered and give it plenty of time. It never hurts to retry things we did not like when we were young.
