What the heck is wrong with these adults who leave children behind in the car? Are they stoned? It’s disgusting to hear how many of these cases we have to hear about! They could set an alarm and reminders if they’re that spaced out and forgetful while out with a child.

This woman was no babysitter she was a cold blooded killer. Who takes on a responsibility to care for a child and forgets about them. What a miserable death this ten month old baby suffered. I’m glad she got seventeen years and hope she gets every minute she deserves not fourteen but the full seventeen. Finally a Judge that will punish this woman to the fullest extent.

Especially after texting the mom 10 minutes after leaving her home to tell her that she had arrived and to dog the woman who was kind enough to let her baby sit Ariah along with her kids. She did not like the baby for one reason or the other and deliberately left her in the car, so she could text and talk on her phone. Thank you judge for not believing her lies about forgetting. If she did honestly forget, there would be no reason to be texting the mom that she had arrived. Sarah Boone 2.0.

Why are automakers not being pressed to do anything? If they can put safety measures like seatbelts, airbags, and rear cameras, there is no reason a beep or sensor can't go off if you stop the car and there's a weight sitting in the backseat.

I think it’s amazing that Florida is doing the right thing when it comes to sentences for these babysitters. I live in Ohio and my cousin sent her daughter and the daughter’s cousin to a baby sitter. This babysitter came highly recommended. But the little girl got hurt so badly she needed stitches. Because both had to work, they had no choice but to send her back hindsight is 20/20 and at the time it was thought to be a freak accident. A few weeks later she was watching the two kids and her daughter in law came over to discuss wedding plans. She sent all 3 kids, all under age 3 into the backyard to play. Without supervision. There was a pool that’s gate had knowingly been broken for 5 months. All three got in the pool. The oldest somehow was able to get out of the pool. The 2 year old was found and has lifetime injuries and the youngest, my cousin died. The baby sitter was orginally sentenced to 8 years. With good behavior she would be out in 4. But this judge who also allowed a drunk driver who killed a childhood friend’s wife out in mere months. I hope she serves the max. This is not acceptable.

The parents are also now going to sue for wrongful death since she was found guilty. She was a beautiful baby with her whole life ahead of her and she was forgotten. You will never be forotten again baby girl. Prayers for the parents and family.

Yeah there was a guy who was texting with potential mistress, and he left his baby in the car. He didn't do much time at all.

She deserves every minute she has been sentenced to. The statements made by her friends and family were awful, complaining how the defendant is depressed and that they are losing sleep, heartless statements. My sympathy goes to Ariya and her parents, a beautiful child dead because of an ignorant, selfish woman's inaction, shame on you Rhonda Jewell.
