Darnold was a turnover machine last year. Close to leading college football with most turnovers for a QB and struggled with his release a lot of the year. May be some possible potential there. But I would have been scared away from him as well.

He spent months watching film & vetting Baker and probably talked to everyone that has ever interacted with him to understand the kind of person he is. I've been a Browns fan since I was 4 years old. Born and raised in Cleveland. I wanted Darnold, but the more I learn about Mayfield the more I am excited. He comes off in his interviews as a very intelligent and grounded guy. Dude is a top tier talent evaluator and can turn teams into winning franchises, just look at what he did to my Chiefs. I badly wanted Wentz and Watson and was ok with passing , stocking picks and $ for 2018 to have time to build it the right , going into this year I liked Darnold a lot and deff wanted him and Chubb but I can't hate , I think Baker has the type of bravado that can come in to a browns team that's been laughed at for a long time and take that personally like he had been there through it all and really take the franchise by the horns and guide it back to being a respectable franchise again and I think he will be must watch TV once he gets comfortable so I am happy with pick for a # of reasons so I deff see the why of it and I think he will be a good player , possibly top 10 qb and Ward has great hips and plays with an edge and I do agree the talent from our corner to him was bigger disparity then Ogbah to Chubb so also a solid pick However that said Sam Darnold will end up being head and shoulders best qb in this draft but I give Baker Mayfield big chance to be a #2 qb out this draft and win alot of games but superbowls , he wants to win them he will have to fully mature and be responsible and 💯 % committed to take his game to that level , I think Darnold has it all already and just needs time to learn , adjust and put his personality as the face of the jets Go Browns deff happy to have Baker I think his attitude and competitive edge is a very welcome addition so good luck to both these good young men and g bless GO Brown's ae

When the Giants picked Barkley, me and 90% of the country collectively thought “well, at least the Browns get Chubb”. Myles Garrett and Bradley Chubb have 2 different, but very effective styles of play. Put them together, and one if not both is going to get to your QB real fast on every given play. Not to mention Ogbah. You can't double team everyone. It takes the Antonio Browns out of games and gives OC's fits.The Browns had a golden opportunity to not only compete, but dominate in a very critical phase of the game and they blew it. Yet again. When Ward was announced I left the house and had to go cool down. Don’t get me wrong, as a Bucs fan I like Ward a lot but this was just horrible IMO. They drafted an undersized CB out of need. Hell, at 0-16 what DONT you need? Show me a mock draft that had Ward or any other small CB over the last decade penciled in at the 4th pick. The last one I remember was Justin Gilbert. He's a very good CB, but you don't take a 183 pound DB over a guy like Bradley Chubb. Especially when you are 0-16. And don't talk to me about team needs. Johnny Manziel has great talent. However, when he was in the league he did not work very hard, did not take the job seriously, partied way too much and was not a leader of men.
