Fantastic video and hike Eddie, and as ever you both looked full of energy. You must be close to 214 now! I see you are also very close to 1k subscribers too - big celebration when that happens!! As ever you got the weather and you got the views but your directions and arrows on the video were excellent too. I was comforted to see you holding onto the fence going up a steep bit - we all need a bit of help now and again. We've started our packing for next week and everything is all systems go!! Hope to see you both soon, regards, Ashley and Andrea.

Hi Eddie! Great video again! I’m very jealous. My hiking has been put to a stop for a while. Hopefully I’ll be back on the road soon as I could have done so many more Wainwrights this year!

Great vid as usual Eddie. I was up round there this time last month and wish I’d taken that right after the gate by waterfall so I could have got up to bakestall. Still enjoyed but midges were killing me and I’d accidentally left bug net in car. Still enjoyed it tho and were tonnes of bilberries on the way up. I didn’t really know that area much apart from seeing that area from the front of skiddaw if you know what I mean.

Typical Caisley weather! We parked at Peter House farm and walked up Ullock Pike, Carlside and on to Skiddaw and then down Bakestall and back down the Cumbria way. We did Great Calva and Knott together from Mosedale. Not many to go now.
@eddiecaisley57462 жыл бұрын
Hi Alan, yes, you're right, typical " Caisley Weather" ha! I thought about ( and mapped) the route you have done up to Skiddaw & The Carlside ridge before doing this walk. We will save that for another day. I can see why you did Great Calva and Knott together as they are close together. There are so many options for routes in this area, it is a great part of the Lakes and not too busy either! Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.

Looked like a great day for a walk in the lakes with the sunshine and super clear views. I've done Bakestall or thought I had until you mentioned the Wainwright summit. I had to go check my map trace and turns out I also did both but probably more by accident than design. I thought I'd have to go back for a minute or 2, which I probably will at some stage. I've not done Great Calva but I think I'd rather walk up that steep incline rather than down it. I wonder how long that fence will last? Enjoyed watching 👍 Paul
@eddiecaisley57462 жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul. The weather certainly helped make the day even better. Yes I agree with you about the climb up to Great Calva, in fact Carol said the same, we would rather go up the steep bit next to the fence rather than go down that way. I had to check Wainwight's book of the Northern Fells when we got back to make sure we got it right. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.

@eddiecaisley5746 Жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, it is a really nice walk. A bit steep heading up to Great Calva, but it levels out. There is quite a clear path coming down from Great Calva back to the Cumbria Way. From what I can remember after descending from the summit for a short distance there is a fork in the path, take the right fork back to the Cumbria Way. The left hand fork still gets you back down, but is a bit longer. Thanks for watching, it is appreciated. Enjoy your walk, take care. Eddie & Carol.
