Over history, an specific time period has been denominated to a type of genre; therefore, according to the Bakhtin, within this time in history, if we talk about Greeks epics, they happened during a frame time (1200 or so even before). Taking this into consideration and going a little farther, in order to consider something as "Greek Epic" the hero must do something heroic which will define what epic is...
