Just a tip, use the tip of a butter knife under the lid of a jar and twist the knife until you hear the pop of the seal break. Sometimes a good smack on the bottom of the jar with your hand after doing that also helps if it's still a bit hard to get off. Another trick I've been doing is taking a rubber band, putting it around the top of whatever I'm trying to open and then that gives me a much better grip. A quick tip for opening jar lids-I use the butt end of a butter knife to bang around the perimeter of the lid. It breaks the seal and comes off easily. The other thing is you can purchase a jar lid rubber thing from grocery stores, Target or Walmart. that all you do is put it over the lid and twist. Your videos are so wonderful, especially this time of year. Thank you for all the hard work daily you have to put into these. They are an incredible blessing of light for so many of us.

I’ve passed up so many job opportunities and promotions over the years because I knew ultimately I wouldn’t be happy. I’m 20 years older than you lol. Loving my job is so much more important to me than the money. I actually left my job in May in order to help out my daughter for a few months and it was perfect timing because I could feel I was starting to feel burnt out. In January, I’m going to start looking for a cozy little shop, cafe, library, or bookstore to work in and I’m so excited😊 I, too, have gotten comments from people about how I should be doing “xyz” because I’m good at it and I always tell them…just because I’m good at it doesn’t mean I actually want to be doing it haha. Mental health is so much more important❤️ The shop you want to open someday sounds wonderful💫

Morgan, another way to open a jar with a metal lid is to break the seal with a spoon! Much easier for me. Just stick the tip of the spoon under the lip of the lid with the back of the spoon against the jar and press on the spoon handle until the lid pops! I’m sure you can find an example of someone doing it online 😊

I'm a day late as I live in Europe and sometimes have to catch up on two episodes in a day, but I just really wanted to comment on this specific video. I've been loving all your vlogmas this year but this one in particular I found very wholesome and comforting. It flew by. You and Landon are so cute and your positivity Morgan is heartwarming. And the cake ! I am not the biggest fan of chocolate cake but I have to admit it looked delicious. Take care ✨ Oh and I wholeheartedly agree with Maddie. You should absolutely do a job you love if you can afford it, even if it's a "small" job because ultimately your mental health is what matters the most for a balanced life, and there is no need to cater to want to "climb up the ladder" if the job you have satisfies you .

For the jars that won't open: get a set of anti-slip opener/grip cloths. A pair is the best because you can both hold the jar and the lid at the same time. They make all the difference.

I'm 30 now, doing a "small" job in some people's eyes and not making a lot of money, but I'm happy and content. if you have any fat rubber bands around, put one around the lid of your jar and they will help you grip the jar better. This also helps after opening the jar and it somehow gets stuck again! That's what we always do. I'm also very fortunate enough to have a very strong 14 year old son who is around to help out with that stuff too! ❤ P.S. Landon's concern for you when he came home is just the most beautiful and sweetest thing ever! You guys must do a "How we met" video and share your story as a couple. You guys are the sweetest, most loving couple I've seen online and it warms my heart and is so refreshing to see. You can also use a spoon and tap on the edge of the lid all the way around and it loosens the seal. Plus it feel like you're drumming :-)

I live in Pa but three years ago my sister( who lives in Utah) and I road tripped up to Washington and did a hiking adventure bouncing between Washington and Oregon but we went to Mt. Hood and it was mind-blowing beautiful there. I will never forget it and the memories we created there. I'm hoping and praying to be able to go back. It's my dream to move to Utah to be closer to my sisters but every year that dream gets further away. Anyway thank you for making me remember that adventure by talking about your own. Happy birthday, Landon! Hope you enjoyed your special day! Morgan, for jars you need to create an air bubble, so I usually use a knife to try and wedge it between the lid and the jar itself and create a bit of space so that an air bubble can come in, it usually works :D

Tip for opening the jar, I then to use a round ended knife like a normal eating one and place the tip of it in between the lid and the glass and lift upward until it pops, then you know air got in and it’s so easy to open 🩷

Hey Morgan!! OMG Landon and I have the same birthday! It was so much fun :) I was in NYC the big apple! I saw a Broadway show and did many other fun things the week of my birthday! There’s another way to open jar’s cap you take a table spoon or tea spoon you place it under the cap where there open space down between the cap and the jar then move the spoon down after that it will help to make the cap open easily note : after you try to move the spoon down put the spoon away then try to open the cap with your hand

I love all the comments with tricks to get jar lids off! 😭🥰 Women supporting women at it's best! ☺ I have hypermobility and can feel my finger joints pulling out when I try really hard to get a lid off and it huuurts! I use a grippy pad thing, but sometimes even that doesn't work, and I frequently cry from frustration trying to open jars if my husband isn't around. 😮‍💨 So now I have a few more ideas!

Happy Happy Birthday Landon!!! 🎉. It seems that your day was filled with lots of joy & love! Just how birthdays should be! Morgan the cake looked delicious…I love chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. My DH & I are now empty nesters, and I am always figuring out how to halve recipes. Those 6” pans are perfect. I too have small hands and find opening jars difficult. So I try 3 different things. First, I will run water to very hot and hold the jar lid area under the hot running water for about a minute. Sometimes it works well. The other thing I do is take a regular knife and tap around the top edges of the lid putting little dents in the lid. This works 95% of the time. I used to tap the lid on the counter like you did, but my jar shattered when I did it and glass was everywhere. Finally I have a circular, rubber lid opener I lay on the top of the lid and turn. This works only if the lid is small enough for my hand to get a good grip. I forget where I got it…it is old. Hope you are feeling better. 😊

Using Playtex gloves to protect your hands, run very hot tap water over the metal top. The heat will make the metal top expand and you will be able to twist off the lid.
