Baking Autumn Cookies 🍂🎃 Planting Fall Flower Bulbs

Spend the day with me baking delicious autumn cookie and planting hundreds of fall flower bulbs (tulip, narcissus, and hyacinth) for a stunning garden next spring. (I planted 273 bulbs in total!) SYNDIA’S MOM’S AUTUMN COOKIES
Preheat oven to 350°F
Ingredients:
• ½ cup softened butter
• ½ cup brown sugar (packed)
• ½ cup honey
• 1 egg
• 1 heaping teaspoon orange zest
• 1 cup whole wheat flour (or regular flour)
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• ½ teaspoon cinnamon
• ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• 1 cup All-Bran cereal
• 1 to 2 cups chocolate chips (your preference-I put loads!)
• ½ to 1 cup walnuts (your preference)
• P.S. I tried this recipe with raisins or cranberries and it’s really not as tasty
Instructions:
1. In an electric mixer:
Cream the butter and brown sugar together until the mixture is fluffy.
Add the honey, egg, and orange zest, and continue mixing until well incorporated.
2. In a separate bowl:
Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture in the mixer until just combined.
3. Add remaining ingredients:
All-Bran, chocolate chips, and walnuts, giving it a final mix.
4. Shape and bake:
Divide the dough into golf ball-sized portions and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes, or until light golden brown.
5. Cool:
Allow the cookies to set for 2 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer them to a cooling rack.
Storage Tips:
These cookies can be frozen; simply take out a few at a time when needed. (I reheat mine in aluminum foil in the oven.) Enjoy with a cup of tea or a tall glass of milk! ♥
